if there were no gr organizations, congress will have more freedom to do what they please and the separation between the people and government will grow. this affects human rights groups as well as churches and other lobbying groups that stand up for the people.
i used to canvass for an environmental gr lobbying group to get people aware of the government's attempt to drill for oil in alaska. That issue comes up once a year or so, tacked in with larger bills so congress will vote for it. its outrageous to try to stop people that pay attention to new bills and try to get the rest of the public involved in these issues.
It has always been a plan to limit the strength of Lobbyists (which isn't a bad thing), but this an infringment of public rights because of who it really effects (civilians). They have detoured the facts that this only affects the Church, but it is clearly a sneak attack on the BLOGOSPHERE!
