And Lawrence couldn't have Ferb when he was a teen......

i read through the other comments, and i've come to the conclusion that i agree with the people saying Doof is Candace's and Phineas's real dad. too many similarities, not sure how the relationships interconnected with each other as Doof was married to Vanessa's mom and Candace and Vanessa being about the same age but the idea is firmly planted in my mind now. otherwise this was the real start of the series as this one and one hit wonder started the songs in every episode format

@acyrox2426 Uh, no. That's WAY too complicated a plot twist for a Disney cartoon. Besides, I think Heinz has seen Phineas on at least one occasion, and he didn't show any signs of recognition. Remember that episode where Phineas and co. played Hide-and-seek? Doofenshmirtz placed a small camera on Perry to try to find out where the platypus lived, and when the camera eventually focused on the kids, he assumed that the signal got switched to a kid's show.

Also, maybe he left early enough in Phineas's life that he just didn't recognize him anymore (possibly from being departed from the Flynn family for so long). Most likely my first theory. I really don't think they'll cover Phineas and Ferb's missing parents. They already said that it didn't matter, they're just going to carry on with the show's usual plots.
