@ALUKED04 Neither they were actors nor they were kidnapped. They were sent to Future London by Clive, but they didn't know that the city was fake. If you play the game again, you will recognice that almost all of the citicens say that they moved to London a few years ago.

The woman was Claire, Layton's girlfriend from college. This game hasn't been released in anywhere but Japan yet (though it will be, soon!), and yes, it's a fantastic game! I've played it through in Japanese, and I'd give it a 9 ~ 9.5. Hopefully not biased since I love the series too much.

And Layton's haircut isn't strange! It's very handsome and cute, IMO :-)

Level-5's backed themselves into a corner here. There's no feasible way for Layton and Luke to meet again unless a) they're way older, which means the characters have changed and there's no more cute litte Luke or handsome Layton, or b) Luke comes back after like a year, and then we know this ending's not really serious. But, even though we get prequel games, nobody wants the Layton series to end in tragedy. We all want to see them move forward from here.

Flora is a woman, Baron Reinhold even said she has grown up to be a beautiful woman, so she is in her late teen years.
