@tanzinababes its funny because america can woop qatar's butt. our stadiums are ALREADY built. if you win you all will have to waste TRILLIONS on building stadiums for one event. no matter how major the event is the chance of you getting you own MLS is slim to none
Thnx God Qatar won the organizing for world cup 2022
we were all praying that U.S won't win this
U.S is the source of terror and no safety out there i don't think that they will be able to ensure that all guests will be safe during world cup
coz as we know even the president of U.S who has information about the attack on 9/11 and didn't care about his people !!! wow i won't be wondering if somebody tells me he was a part of the attack
Honestly, I think the reason the US did not get it is because outside the US they feel like we dont appreciate Soccer. One, they dont like the fact we call "Futbol" Soccer. Two, they feel like we have all these other sports we pay attention to and make more money off of that we dont care about Soccer, ex. Football, Basketball, Baseball, etc etc... There are alot of people that love Soccer in the US, but we also love our other sports. We love sports in general. What other people outside of US
@GunzGot5 dont understand is the US is made by sports. Trust me we love sports more than you guys can imagine. If the 2022 world cup would have been in the US, it would break records on attendance, also it would make so much more money and it will show people that the US supports Soccer.
@GunzGot5 I honestly think that the US didn't get to host the 2022 world cup because you already hosted in 1994. That's only 16 years ago. If a country gets to repeat it should be England, they haven't hosted the cup since 1966 and it's a country that is crazy inlove with football. But before England I would love to see countries that haven't been hosts like Netherlands/Belgium since they also love football and Holland was a finalist in 2010, or Australia where their love is grwoing like in US.
Qatar for ever....they deserve it . at least for once in the middle east why not? :/ there prince al sheqh : Hamed bin khalefa AL-thani is spending billions AND billions of money on that country and specially on sports, why don't the middle east show them self on sport or the world cup now? there should be change, not always the world cup should be in Europe or US...it's the time...for the CHANGE .
@mohameddebs presentation = awesome but can they deliver? A presentation is different than whats going on in your country, the difficulties it faces, etc. You cant brag about Qatar right now as everything is that were assuming they can do this and that perfectly as expected in the presentation..and US has hosted once how is it always in the USA? (don't forget the nation who's sport isnt even the top 2 or 3 created the most successful world cup ever and our stadiums are already built and bigger
@1234567loading People hate the US and UK because they are jealous. They ignore the corruption, crime, poverty and abuses of human rights in their own country and obsess over insulting the US/UK.
@thebigegg123you are right about the england and australia bids, but you are forgetting that money talks. it had nothing to do with which bids deserved it. it just shows that neither country bribed anyone
@thebigegg123 england smear campaigns hurt their chances and also hurt the chances of australia.... the iberian lost because of economic problem while holland and belgium lost because it was a long shot....
please don't give it to the yanks again. Everything they host is dull, boring and over comercial. They hosted the worst world cup ever and lets not even talk about the Atlanta Olympics. A stupid CUNTry thats population is stuck in a myopic 1950's world and jesus freaksto boot.
@batttyboi: the difference between crazy christians and crazy muslims? the latter will blow you up. while i agree that there are too many religious people in the world, i don't think the christians in the US are even close to as hateful as the muslims in the middle east. WHY? because the US does not make policies based on religion, the middle east is run by religious clerics and kings. therefore, middle eastern policies actually promote religiously grounded hate while the US has criminalized it.
US doesnt deserve to host a world cup unless they actually put some more money into MLS and BUILD FUCKING SOCCER STADIUM. any country that try to play a WORLD CUP MATCH in other sports stadium, that shows their lack of support and love for soccer... soccer matches, at least, world cup matches shall be played in soccer stadium, not american football or baseball field!
For all of those saying the USA wouldn't be a good place for the world cup, may I remind you that the 1994 world cup is regarded as the most successful world cup of all time. It still holds the record for highest attendance, despite the tournament hosting only 24 teams. USA would be a great pick for 2022.
Dammit cross out all the citys who don't have MLS teams... they don't deserve to have Fifa in their city. Vote for Seattle there considered the soccer capitol of the U.S :D
@TheGuyNamedCris if you do that, there would be, like, no diversity. most all of the mls teams are concentrated in one area of the nation. plus, the mls isnt even fully established. they are still adding new teams. by 2018 or 2022, some cities that dont have a team now may have one.
I like the stadiums in Seattle and Boston, real open football stadiums (I think the RFK stadium in Washington is awesome too)
However, I remember the World Cup of '94, that was far too hot, so playing a few games in air-conditioned stadium with a (retractable) roof wouldn't be a bad idea. The stadium in Houston lloks wonderful.
@hatuey1995 this is not set in stone by any means. this is just a option stated by the us bid committee. fifa will decide everything(cities, stadiums, what games are played there) when and if they award the games to the usa.
Should've had the Bay Area as part of the bid. Berkley's Memorial Stadium with its surroundings would be an unforgettable World Cup experience; and all the big city things are near by. There's also Stanford's remodeled stadium. And the 49ers may have a new stadium soon.
dallas cowboys stadium.it is beutyfull and the cardinals university of phionex are the top 2 staduims in united states but watch out, here comes new jersey with thier new stadium.i want the finals to be held in dallas and thats because i live in texas and to see an important game like this would be a dreeam come true!!!!!!!!!
No. No. No. A football nation must always take precedence over one that claims to "hate" the game. If everyone else goes broke and can't afford to host it, THEN we consider the USA. And they're going to be borrowing NFL stadiums too. Tragic.
Incredible stadiums but nearly all of these aren't actually soccer stadiums, they are NFL stadiums, surely the US should put more effort into making soccer stadiums that will continue to be used for soccer after the world cup instead of just borrowing NFL stadiums for 3 weeks. Fifa want to see a long lasting legacy with every hosted world cup so it may be in the USA's interest to reject some of these NFL stadiums and use soccer stadiums instead.
@LondonCanary they are multi sports stadiums actually. Some stadiums are for football and baseball believe it or not. Its usually a good idea to not waste a stadium on a single sport unless it cant be designed that way. But football and soccer have relatively the same field sizes, so why blow money on it?
Those here who are talking about how we shouldn't do this while we're in a recession need to realize that this is an investment for our, and each country going for the bid. The hundreds of thousands of football fans that will be expected to bring in millions of money no matter which countries win the bid in both 2018 and 2022.
@erickofspirit Okay, then that should not be an issue if the AstroTurf can be replaced by real grass.
And you are right, the money that this kind of event can bring in is immense. Over here in South Africa, we have alot more issues than you guys but hosting this event has already caused a projected 0.5% growth in our economy. Not to mention for us, it has helped boost our international image and encouraged investment. So, the merits of hosting such an event can outweigh the downside.
One problem though; FIFA is not high on AstroTurf or GrassyTurf. Here in South Africa, they are only trialling grass with partly synthetic roots. That might be a problem. FIFA is very old school and traditional.
And one question; Why are most American stadiums built without roofs? Very strange.
@thestaggie well to tell you this, we have had international club football games in a few of these stadiums. And the ones that had the AstroTurf, they easily were able to place grass on top of it. So this shouldn't be an issue.
@thestaggie most american football stadium roofs are retractable believe it or not.... but in american football, its meant to be played in extreme weather with exception only for extreme lightning (lightning strikes big stadiums) otherwise, rain or snow, football still plays... and people still come.
If they make a serious bid, the United States will get one of these. Reason? Their solid performances in South Africa and the fact that this was the most watched World Cup by Americans back home. It had the highest TV ratings in the US ever. Plus, US fans bought the most tickets outside of South Africans. FIFA will not ignore the potential cash-cow on hand.
@thestaggie well most stadiums have roofs cause they either have extremely hot or cold conditions like where i live in florida my hometon nfl teams uses heat to our advantage cause in our winters its still about 80 dgrees farinheight idk what that is in celcuis i thinks its bout 25 degrees but roofed stadiums in usa is a good idea espacially cause the world cup would be in our summers i dont think messi would enjoy playing in 120 degree heat
@beenn15 Capacity has nothing to do with being World Class. Your playing surface, scoreboards, VIP lounges, suites, boxes, locker rooms, public facilities, public access, safety levels & media centers are the defining factors, not size.
@roflhumor they are the same size... the soccer field in bounds dimensions are bigger, but the out of bounds terrirtories on american football fields are bigger. That equals out.
New meadowlands stadium is my favoreite...it is more than obvious that the US has the most quantity of incredible stadiums in both size and and elegance...the US could host the world cup tommorow if asked, so im confident we will get it by latest 2022
We are ready!! In this global recession why a country would like to spend money building new stadiums. It would be a crime if FIFA decides to go with a country that would have to built more than one stadium, when that money could be used in more essential needs.

We are ready!! In this global recession why a country would like to spend money building new stadiums. It would be a crime if FIFA decides to go with a country that would have to built more than one stadium, when that money could be used in more essential needs.
