Honestly, I think the reason the US did not get it is because outside the US they feel like we dont appreciate Soccer. One, they dont like the fact we call "Futbol" Soccer. Two, they feel like we have all these other sports we pay attention to and make more money off of that we dont care about Soccer, ex. Football, Basketball, Baseball, etc etc... There are alot of people that love Soccer in the US, but we also love our other sports. We love sports in general. What other people outside of US

If a country gets to repeat it should be England, they haven't hosted the cup since 1966 and it's a country that is crazy inlove with football. But before England I would love to see countries that haven't been hosts like Netherlands/Belgium since they also love football and Holland was a finalist in 2010, or Australia where their love is grwoing like in US.

It still holds the record for highest attendance, despite the tournament hosting only 24 teams. USA would be a great pick for 2022.

I like the stadiums in Seattle and Boston, real open football stadiums (I think the RFK stadium in Washington is awesome too)

However, I remember the World Cup of '94, that was far too hot, so playing a few games in air-conditioned stadium with a (retractable) roof wouldn't be a bad idea. The stadium in Houston lloks wonderful.

Incredible stadiums but nearly all of these aren't actually soccer stadiums, they are NFL stadiums,surely the US should put more effort into making soccer stadiums that will continue to be used for soccer after the world cup instead of just borrowing NFL stadiums for 3 weeks. Fifa want to see a long lasting legacy with every hosted world cup so it may be in the USA's interest to reject some of these NFL stadiums and use soccer stadiums instead.

Its usually a good idea to not waste a stadium on a single sport unless it cant be designed that way. But football and soccer have relatively the same field sizes, so why blow money on it?

The hundreds of thousands of football fans that will be expected to bring in millions of money no matter which countries win the bid in both 2018 and 2022.

And you are right, the money that this kind of event can bring in is immense. Over here in South Africa, we have alot more issues than you guys but hosting this event has already caused a projected 0.5% growth in our economy. Not to mention for us, it has helped boost our international image and encouraged investment. So, the merits of hosting such an event can outweigh the downside.

One problem though; FIFA is not high on AstroTurf or GrassyTurf. Here in South Africa, they are only trialling grass with partly synthetic roots. That might be a problem. FIFA is very old school and traditional.

And one question; Why are most American stadiums built without roofs? Very strange.
