man i feel bad being born in 95. rap used to be educational, philosophical everything. every song used to sound different too. nobody used the same drum beat either. what happened.
@HypeRhymz The big music corporations discovered that they could exploit yet another genre of black music. The end result was a rich, cultural art form turned into a cheap, disposable product.
@HypeRhymz I agree with you that the content of old rap trumps the "new era" of rap. Music was about something, not an advertisement like it is now. Although, nobody using the same drum beat isn't true. This era of rap was the birth of artistic sampling. A lot of songs from old school rap do use the same beat. I still love it.
@HypeRhymz I was born in 80' and I agree with you TCQ was a gem to say the least, but once in a great while, you might find something worth hearing more then once nowdays!
@HypeRhymz It became entertainment business which thrives on content geared towards a lowest common denominator audience......and hell, their making a whole bunch of dough with it, the bastards......

That 1st rhyme from Q-Tip always catches me. I'm shuffling through music and I almost skip to another song, and then I'm like aaaaa....
This and Rhythm are so chill it is almost a sin, seeing as it is so much better than most of the garbage today!
