  • and today... we still have people taking their lives because of the stigma Society, Religion, Class, compartmentalize ones own sexuality - causing so much sadness, grief and anxiety in those that fear to live there lives honestly and lovingly

  • If you ever watch another Warner Brothers' film from the era of the 1930s, listen for how liberally the scorer for WB's films, Max Steiner, borrowed from Tchaikovsky. Max Steiner also scored "Gone with the Wind". In that score, you can very blatantly hear Steiner borrowing from Tchaikovsky's 6th symphony.

  • An artist wants to relate to a wide audience, and the expression of the tragic is more universal than personal. The Russian sensibility is inexorably linked to the land of their home. The reason so many however, including people who are not Russian, can relate to his music is because it is very human. He takes human experiences and raises them to dramatic levels because in the individual the pain of being alone intense. It is the ego battling mortality. It is everyone's story.

  • Wonderful documentary. I have always loved Tchaikovsky, and the sad and tragic circumstances of his death only make me feel closer to him. God rest him and heal his broken heart. He left us such beautiful music!
