  • @MrJaysonVilett If he has no trains but insults other brands, that's what I call a troll. Trolls need to learn to stop being ACes.

  • When going to a model train collectors' show, each time you pick up a vintage engine, piece of rolling stock or accessory, you can understand how the original engineer cherished it. No matter how wonderful that new "find" is, you'll never love it as much as you loved the ones you had as a boy. Yet we still try to capture the magic of our childhood. That's what keeps us searching for the perfect example of the one we didn't get in our youth. TRAINS, A LIFETIME INVESTMENT IN HAPPINESS!

  • i hate when people dis model trains!!!

  • I remember, when I was a boy, going to Macy's and Gimbels around Christmas time and looking at the store and window displays of the Lionel trains. It was a facinating time. I still have the trains from that time long ago and my grandchildren are enjoying them now with grandpa's supervision.

  • at 3:53 in the video thats a nice pic i would like to have framed on my wall

  • i love trains

  • I've got a No. 2025 Locomotive..thats been with me forever! I know what you mean! I love the steam locomotives..

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of CBS News' Sunday Morning's Osgood File Report On Lionel Trains For Christmas On Sunday Morning, December 17, 2000.

  • THIS WAS THE LAST YEAR OF ANY LIONEL TRAIN SET BEING MADE IN THE US THATS SAD 2001 AND UP IS CHINA I HAVE A FEW OF THEM BUT WHEN I GOT INTO POSTWAR AND PREWAR LIONEL SETS THAT WAS GOING BACK AFTER THAT I LOVE THE OLD SETS WAY BETTER

  • haha i find it funny when the little kid at the beginning is trying to couple a piggyback trailer to where the tender is supoosed to be. great video!

  • Lionel will ALWAYS be the best.

  • @HarveyHenkelmann

you no did u year them say that they didnt like lionel no ,but they said that there was problems that could be fixed, they still said that they were good and that they don't have problems with it

  • @HarveyHenkelmann what about G scale

  • @yugi2

g scae is great check out sum of g my g scale vids

  • 1 persons family was not a family because they did not have a lionel train

  • @tigerboy1227 lol

  • The train that he would never part with is a Lionel 675. I picked mine up a couple of years ago and it runs like new. I would never sell it either!

  • He runs the trains way too fast. Very unrealistic !!!!

  • @soshmed1

so who cares atleast hes having fum with it

  • @HarveyHenkelmann O gauge are for men.. yes..I like 0 gauge.

What I dont like are how fake Lionel train wheels and rails are compared to the real thing. They are not to scale. They are more like toys than the smaller "more accurate" models.

  • @RerailMe

i agree i also hate the way they take the turns too sharp, and whats up with ther middle rain y not just 2 like the other modles, i no its 2 power it but really, i like o gage too but i like s gae better around the same time peroid but more realistic than o gage

  • This story does say it all!!!

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he was in a video back in the 90's then he was a dentist

  • WHAT EVER HAPPIN TO PHIL AMBROS AND HIS SONG LIONEL CHRISTMAS THAT WAS MUSIC CAN I BUY HIS CD

  • "LIONEL TRAINS" by Charles Osgood

    The railroads of our yesterdays

Touched people's lives in many ways.

One whistle sound, one stretch of track,

    And memories come flooding back.

The romance of the railroad trains

Is still alive; it still remains.

What lovely stories trains could tell

And still do, thanks to LIONEL.

  • I used to model HO. Now I model O 3-rail and love it! It's bigger and the sound is awesome. Besides, the trains are heavier and you can feel them going by!

  • @WaukarusaKid

start modiling g scale there amazing and huge check out sum of my g scale vids

  • To each his own, my good sir. I prefer Lionel and other 0 gauge, just as you prefer HO. Its a hobby after all, not a religion, so relax dude. Sometimes I think its a shame that some cars are either to large or underscale, but who cares? Its all in good fun. I've done the HO thing and it wasnt for me. But that dosent mean I think its "WRONG" and people who are HO-ers should like O. Enjoy your trains, and I'll enjoy mine.

  • u need to lyk lionel they rock. o gage rocks.

  • @coldandscared Its not that I dont like o gauge. I have no problems with that gauge. The problem is how fake the lionel track and wheels looks compared to the real thing and especially those darn huge flanges that I always laugh at. They look more like child toys than something I can take seriously for its realisim. And untill they fix those fake aspects, I will still laugh at Lionel trains!

  • @RerailMe

    i agree

  • @back10506

yess, i love all scales i have n ,ho, o , s, and g scales and i just luve them all alls i need is t and z scale till i have all the scales, and i agree with u u should enjoy all scales , i mean i sure do

  • but the trains look better and the sounds sound better

  • @RerailMe

yess they do i mean stick wit h2 rails LIONEL much more realistic

  • @RerailMe - see what you started? I prefer scale trains too, but you don't hear me dissing Lionel. I don't think Lionel or other toy trains should cease to exist because of it. Live and let live, okay?

  • @JBofBrisbane Exactly!. Live and let live as a toy! Not a model that can be taken seriously for detail. :)

  • @JBofBrisbane lol..I was about to same the same thing Bassotronics said.

  • Finally, now I know.

This layout was in the "I Love Toy Trains" videos I had when I was little.

  • I love Lionel! Check out my train layout.

  • can i come over and play?

  • @tacosandbeerandbeer

    hahahahahah that souded kinda creepy

  • I'm not sure what the number was but my brother and i got a washigton for chrismas

  • My dad and I have been Running and collecting for years. We have a 2035 engine like they show in this vid. Best toy ever made!! Light years ahead of any video game! :)

  • almost all of us share the same story:

When we were little on Christmas Day, we would see a big beautiful train (for me, it was a steam 4-4-0 and Santa Fe Super Cheif)

As we got older, we spent our entire life on trains until we have a giant train layout in the attic/basement

does anyone else share this common bond? I do

  • BrickstarRunner, yeah we all have the 'illness' I have both Lionel's (that I inherited from my dad) and H.O.'s that I have boxes and boxes of that I have been collecting for many years, I hope to add a dormer on my house and have a room to set this stuff up in.

  • @totallygonegearhead

    hahaha yea mee too

  • @BrickstarRunner

yes im like that and my collection has just begun im 14 and i have 4 engins for g scale and about 55 cars , about 8 engines in ho and about 100 cars, and i got 2 engines in s gage and about 20 cars , and i got 2 engines in o gage and 7 cars, and im just getting stasrted on n scale
