  • In the mid-90's, hurricane Danny just parked itself for about 9 hours over Mobile Bay, dumping an incredible amount of rain over the area. When it had passed, I went to check out things. Walking down to the water's edge, I was shocked by what I saw. As far as the eye could see, there was a line of trash which was about ten feet or so from the waters's edge. It stretched as far as the eye could see and was full of plastic junk. Sunglasses, lighters, balls, applicators, bottles, etc It was sick!

  • The FDA is a joke. They pander to corporate interests, not ours. Dangerous chemicals are in so many products touted to be safe, it's not even funny. Gods help us all.

  • wow!

  • Probleme kann man niemals mit derselben Denkweise lösen,

    durch die sie entstanden sind.

  • I've lost hope in humanity. We're a tumor on this beautiful planet really. I'm not going to go out killing people, but I wouldn't mind that 2012 prophecy to come true.

  • this is horrible people constantly turn their heads away from this problem bbut this problem is rlly quite serious! iuf we don't act now...that whole 2012 superstition may be a reality! act now dont wait for tomorrow!

  • I’m sooo glad Dr. Fred vom Saal did this BPA study. Three and a half (3-1/2) years ago we had an awful time finding BPA free baby bottles and sippy cups for our infant (yeah for glass bottles and Born Free plastic sippy cups/bottles). These days almost every single baby bottle and sippy cup on the market is BPA free. How times have changed - if this was a farce, why would all the major companies take the time and money to go BPA free - I think it says something.

  • Coca-Homo & Dr Bender?

  • Today i drank a water bottle made from plants

  • All plastic can be made with biodegradable hemp oil, Grow hemp, save the world.

  • @lucrene1112 - Why is this not the answer then? Why is not all companies changing to this? Is it much more expensive?

  • @lucrene1112

    IT SURE CAN!

  • @lucrene1112 only some plastic types

  • You no doubt will be forced to care someday. How sad there are pathetic, indifferent people who think like this.

  • OMG! Homosexuality is caused by plastic! What are the Republicans gonna do now? They're plastic thru-and-thru!

  • Avoid plastic bags, plastic bottles (pop, juice, water, shampoo...), CDs. Stop using cars, take public transit. Avoid airplane travel, it's really not necessary. Stop buying books and magazines, get them in electronic version; stop printing everything you see on the computer. Just stop buying stuff in general. Get used to living with less stuff. Focus on the important stuff, what's inside you. Drink water from your tap! That's why we clean it.

  • ... Encourage birth control especially where the population increase rate is very high.... This re-focusing of our energies will imply learning to love your children better, so they don't have emotional cravings that lead them to want to acquire stuff stuff stuff.

  • OMG. Im being poisoned...well not after this video is over! im truely amazed. they should show us this at school! i feel ashamed.

  • You think your being poisoned? Look up chemstream, you know, those long white clouds behind jets? Those are actually poisonous chemicals that causes cancer and other halth issues. SARS may have also been a product of chem streams. Look it up.

A group of ''elitists'' are planning on removing 80% of the world population, by using that method to cause a massive pandemic, such as the flu (lethal version).

I urge people to see the true fait which awaits us, something that is very serious.

  • So the powers that be, the same people who support the church (which discourages, nay actually prevents birth control and the use of condoms in the third world, which is not even christian), are planning to deal with the human overpopulation problem by poisoning 80% of us? Strange. And do they have an antidote for themselves?

  • That's disgusting! Most of the plastic water bottles we drink go to landfills; 8 out of 10 plastic water bottles become landfill waste. Millions of bottles a day go into the trash where they take 700 yrs before they begin to decompose! Plastic pollution is a worldwide problem . We recently purchased stainless steel reusable water bottles from a company called "FOF Bottles". Their website has great info on plastic pollution as well (including this video!). We all need 2 help clean up this mess!

  • I have been poisoning my little girl with these bottles storing them with formula in the fridge and then heating them in a microwave and I am thoroughly ashamed of my self. Because I know first hand about the trustworthiness of corporations and government. I let convenience over rule my better judgment and by doing so poisoned my daughter in the most dynamic developmental stage of her innocent little life when she was relying on me the most.

  • One thing I will no longer do is to take the corruption and abuse of my government and industry and do nothing because it seems hopeless. In the horrors to come, and make no mistake about it they are coming I at least will die knowing that I tried to do whatever I could to help my children have a life worth living. Cold comfort and a pitiful consolation if ever there was one.

  • I don't know what I can do but I am going to think long and hard about it and try. We are all going to die, it all depends on how you wish to go down on your knees addicted to stupid distractions, in a mall, or on your feet trying at least to change your world. The only people who have ever won any fight are those who are willing to die fighting rather than give up. Enough is enough! When someone threatens my children then they had better be willing to die because I certainly am.

  • No big surprise ..probably find D B Cooper floating about some missing nukes ,tons of space shuttle debris some lost Lennon tapes and a locket of Jerry Garcia's ashes ...strange trip indeed. eh Amelia

  • The nations really need to clean up the oceans. Plastic is a nightmare and a silent killer but yet everyone has it in their homes.

  • Sure avoiding and replacing this stuff by organic products is the best way. But if you are taking the recycling serios things like the one you described wont happen. But therefore it also has to be a will and a change of thinking. Education of humans is the most important work for this too.

  • only we can make a diffo. but when we do it might be 2 late

  • We do not need to ban all plastic products, but we need a vigilant way of using and avoiding this stuff and of course recycling is the magic word.

  • Recycling doesn't keep this crap out of the ocean, recycling doesn't keep the chemical leeching out of the water.

  • Why not?

  • Much of the plastic the US tries to recycle is shipped to China. China buys scrap plastics, even the varieites the US won't try to do anything with. Much of the plastic that ends up in the ocean falls in durring transit or is blown out to sea while it sits waiting to be recycled. Avoiding it like you said would be the begining of heading in the right direction.

  • I work with an volunteer-based organization that cleans up trash from the Missouri River. The amount of plastic washed out of urban tributaries and then becomes part of the landscape along the Missouri, then the Mississippi, then Gulf of Mexico is truly astounding. When people see the drift piles of plastic along these rivers (or along the beaches in Mexico or Caribbean) they are always astounded. I still am.

  • If you want to see the source of most of the plastic in the ocean, look in the creek behind your house and multiply by the number of creeks like it in the world (don't forget to add the underground "creeks" we've created - stormsewers). But thanks for pointing out that much of our recycling is shipped to China. Recycling is important, but not without its own impacts. And recycled plastic is still plastic...

  • I saw this when this aired the first time. I still can't get over how much damage has been found. I only hope that most peeople will join in the efforts that we must make to reverse this serious problem. Thanks to Whiskeywarmoctober for sending me this video and many thanks to StrangeDaysAction for uploading this!
