My favorites have always been the Stargate references. In the Hall of Champions in Stormwind there are military NPCs based off of SG-1. Captain O'Neal, Lieutenant Karter, Lieutenant Jackspring, Guards Hammon and Quine, and Sergeant Major Clate. References to Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson, General Hammond, Jonas Quinn, and Teal'c respectively.
