Stamped? Hmm...all seems so cheap compared to the manufacturing processes the best Japanese knives undergo. Great for basic, everyday use...but not to be compared to the quality of knives produced by Shun, Hattori, etc...
I bought my 1st 4* henckel set in 1992. I used them in restaurant 16 years. now in 2010 they remain really sharp except for my paring knife, a friend used it to open a can and dented the edge :S.
