I think every single apple user would buy a tablet if it is sufficiently comparable to a standard computer. I am patiently, patiently, waiting for it and I hope it gets released sooner than later. But a larger itouch with itouch OS is a waste - I wouldn't buy that, and if I got it as a gift I'd most likely sell it.

the iPhone nano would be kinda cool, maybe to be cheaper than the full size one, which would make it effectively good at selling. However, an iPhone shuffle is ridiculous. With only 2 apps to be displayed at once, only vertical scrolling, and not enough space to do anything except call someone, it would definitly suck. But the iPhone nano sounds pretty good if u wanna sacrifice power, memory, and size for cheaper prices. Not a good offset, though.

I know this might sound dumb, but it would be awesome if they add a multi touch trackpad underneath the keyboard to the iMac even though it's a desktop and for a higher price and still have the options of chosing standard keyboard and wireless keyboard.

IF they were to offer a multi-touch trackpad as an external option to an iMac, it would be an external one, i.e. a whole external unit, separate from the keyboard. That way you get a standardized keyboard and a choice in mouse or external trackpad.

I personally would bloody love an external multitouch trackpad... however i highly doubt it will happen =(

Yeah that's what I meant, thanks for correcting me. An external multitouch trackpad for the iMac would be amazing. I don't doubt that in some time they'll come out with that external trackpad and make it a separte option like the wireless keyboard and mouse.

I love Apple but the keynote was terrible... I guess I was expecting too much.

Not even a iMac/Mac Mini refresh. My guess is Apple wants to make their own events, and put Macworld behind them forever.

For those who missed it: iWork 09, iLife 09: some new features... Best thing I think is iMovie 08 upgrade... Video Stabilization looks amazing.

And Apple also released a 17 inch unibody Macbook Pro starting at $2799 upgradable up to $5249...

i am hoping for a quad core iMac. i was supposed to by one last month but didn't knowing that macworld expo is near. i was going to get the 24" iMac with the 2.8ghz core2extreme and upgrade to the 8800gs.

Yea they do. Apple sells them right off there website. They offer the standard 1 year warranty with all purchases or you can upgrade to a 2 year. Hope that helps

he really doesnt know much about the core i7. and im pretty sure nothing about gpus too because why would you want a 9400 in there? do u want hybird sli? the 9400 sucks and i would never want that in a desktop. just because 9400 is a higher number than 8800 doesnt mean its better. if you want it for hybrid sli its acceptable but it wont be worth the price. just put a 9800gt in there and it will b fine. i dont think any of this will happen cause of cooling issues on the imac.

Hmmm? Wow I didn't know that when it comes to GPU's that a higher number doesn't mean better. Thanks a lot for pointing that out. I should subscribe to u. But I did know that nvidia was first making the 9400 for a desktop that's what they came to Apple with in the first place before Apple wanted it as for the MacBooks. And what else don't I know about Core i7?

nvidia measures their gpus with 4 numbers. the first number indicates how new it is,the second number indicates how well the performance is(under 6 is low end and above is high end), and the last two are usually "50" to indicate a better/changed version of that card. So the 8600 actually has about twice the performance of the 9400 and explained in the next sentence why. if you want to know how well a gpu performs look at the amount of stream processors or pixel shaders ,the more the better.

And for core i7, they are all quad core and not dual core and they are not of the "2 duo" architecture (as you said in the video). The i7 is actually the largest change ever in a processor architecture. You may be mixed up with the 45nm core 2 duos/quads released near the start of 2008 which are completely different and have horrible performance compared to a core i7 in hyper threaded programs such as video editing (you said released a few days ago as of dec 31). That is why i said what i said.

The 9400 for a desktop does not use hybird sli. Nvidia uses similar naming/numbering systems for both their mobile GPUs and their video cards except they add an "m" after the mobile cards. The 9400 does not have hybird sli, the 9400m does.

its macworld. i expected them to release something new and unseen before like a 9400 desktop hybrid sli version which is what nvidia has been doing to some of their video cards lately (example would be the evga 9800gt hybrid sli edition). I already knew all that stuff with the "m" and they do that because its actually the same gpu just with a lower power consumption and clock because they need to put it in a laptop. I said the whole hybrid sli thing because the imac has a small formfactor to it.

You only briefly mentioned the one Mac that is guaranteed t be updated, the Mac Pro. It's been on most of the rumour sites that it's expected to use the new Nehalem Xeon processors which are out now or will be before the end of this month. It's also widely accepted that the Pro will see a upgrade to it's looks. Weather it will or not who knows but I would bet a Mac Pro update more then an iMac update.

Least likely to happen is that larger iPod Touch.. Also - I reckon the iPhone Nano or Shuffle is unlikely too... The iPhone SDK is designed for the screen size of 320x480... So if they alter the size, the alter any applications made for it.

I'm looking forward to a Mac Mini or iMac though - My first Apple Desktop :D

I'd have to agree with you on this. I'd also be inclined to believe that's when complete blu-ray support will hit as well. The i7 is a beast right out of the box [even the low end version] so I can only imagine what kind of power a server version harness. Needless to say that I've started putting money in the bank for the next generation Mac Pro.
