  • Great pointers, thanks!

  • and I guess your message was um (123) GREAT!

  • I have been looking for resources to improve my diction and pronunciation. This is a great start and I will look for more of your videos. While I am an avid reader, I have always had difficulty with pronunciation. I believe it may be related to an auditory processing weakness. The other day I was very embarrassed when I was corrected in my mispronunciation of prostate. My knowledge was negated by my ignorance of the correct pronunciation.

  • Very good this lady, I have the same things

  • @xnenaxo LOL. You don't have to slow the words, just stop and pause at the end of a sentence.

  • Awesome. I like your great lesson. I will share it with my son and friends.

  • @schkleen Thank you for your comments. Good speech habits should begin at an early age.

  • Sssssssssssssix sssssssssssloppy sssssssssssspeech habitsssssssss? Do they involve sounding like a snake?

They should. BIG pet peeve of mine.

Couple this with the upward inflection........MURDER!

  • @jmccanless76 Yes, a whistling /s/ can be distracting. The remedy is to put your tongue behind your lower teeth to eliminate that whistling sound.

  • One of the most annoying things I see here is the newer T.V. journalists using "gonna and wanna."

My step kids say "are you goin' to de-thaw some steak?" and "ain't got no"

It drives me nuts.... and worse... I'm starting to sound just like them!

  • @2JobsStillPoorUSA Yes, i hear journalists mispronounce words or use incorrect grammar. Isn't the director supposed to correct that?

  • Girl where you be learnin ebonics and Jive talk from??
