I will say this I don't like to compare singers because everyone's voice is different Kelly voice is very differnt from Beyonce they both are great singers Beyonce has a lot more power behind her voice, kelly voice is very adaptable she can float back and forth between pop and R&B.

I disagree... That was just the right thing to do. Regardless of whether or not they were going to sue her (which wouldn't have gotten them much because they would have had to pay legal fees) I think she did it because they got hurt at her concert and she probably felt bad for them.

The thing about Alicia Keys though is that she's not always on top of the charts. Her first single will usually do well, but the rest usually fail to crack the top 20, as we saw with Teenage Love Affair and Superwoman. But despite Beyonce, she still manages to rack up some big numbers and I give her credit for that.

With "The Wiz" I just believe that it cost too much money to make & "people" were not ready for it. Basically critics ripped it apart & at that time our movies were not blowing up nationally like they do now. In the 70s blaxploitation movies were a hit with us but the rest of the America was not on it like that. The movie made money, it just didn't make enough. So to sum it up, I feel like we did go see it but the rest of America needed to see it also to make it a hit & make its money back.

There was controversy with the Whiz's release. People were upset that Stephanie Mills did not get the lead role as Dorothy - since she did such a great job in the play. There was backlash towards to Diana Ross because people felt she once again played her diva card to get the role.

Beyonce was paid (I think) $4 million for her performance in Cadillac Records and she donated all of it to the Phoenix House (the rehab center) where she studied to play Etta James. She also had food drives on six of her stops on The Beyonce Experience. And when those fans got hurt by her fireworks she paid for them to fly to another show of their choice with a friend.

I disagree... That was just the right thing to do. Regardless of whether or not they were going to sue her (which wouldn't have gotten them much because they would have had to pay legal fees) I think she did it because they got hurt at her concert and she probably felt bad for them.

That gymnastics comparison was on poin, but I disagree with you about Rihanna being 2nd to Beyonce in the best artists of the decade. I'd say Beyonce, then Alicia Keys, then Rihanna. The thing about Alicia Keys though is that she's not always on top of the charts. Her first single will usually do well, but the rest usually fail to crack the top 20, as we saw with Teenage Love Affair and Superwoman. But despite Beyonce, she still manages to rack up some big numbers and I give her credit for that.

With "The Wiz" I just believe that it cost too much money to make & "people" were not ready for it. Basically critics ripped it apart & at that time our movies were not blowing up nationally like they do now. In the 70s blaxploitation movies were a hit with us but the rest of the America was not on it like that. The movie made money, it just didn't make enough. So to sum it up, I feel like we did go see it but the rest of America needed to see it also to make it a hit & make its money back.

I never bought them because I don't spend money on the artist of today. I love sade and timeless music like that is worth buying. Todays music is a little less origional my video phone or stupid stuff. Beyonce has to worry about britney spears taking her # one spot.

I dint buy the Ms. kelly album, but i downlloaded five songs off iTunes: Flashback, Like This, Still In love With My Ex, Better Without You, and This is Love. Those tracks were amazing. Still listening to them.

I did purchase Kelly's cd and it was very good. I also have Beyonce's first 2 CDs and I like them as well. I did not get her new one because somehow I stopped being a fan in the last few years she was "away".
Anyway Kelly didn't sell as much as she should have because who knew her record was coming out? Hardly anyone! And even more with Chelle's! Still In Love With My Ex (original) Best song she ever did!

No I have to disagree on the Listen song, Beyonce doesn't sing that song live as well as the recording, she doesn't hit those notes live like the recording. That song is somewhat a little out of her leauge.

There was controversy with the Whiz's release. People were upset that Stephanie Mills did not get the lead role as Dorothy - since she did such a great job in the play. There was backlash towards to Diana Ross because people felt she once again played her diva card to get the role.

I would buy Kelly CD over Beyonce.
I have all of Kelly CD's SIMPLY DEEP and MS KELLY and the DIVA DELUXE VERION.
Kelly music is more RAW and her music is better. I can relate to Kelly's songs and I feel her emotion and soul when she sings, I just prefer her MUSIC.

I agree with everything you said.Kelly Rowland is a big seller over here in the UK,her music is real good but Beyonce is always trying to outshine everybody by making songs that are copying Rhianna and others sound instead of using her talent to make music showcasing her vocals.

Beyonce heard the song... Recorded it without bc jeans consent. Beyonces management called BC JEAN up and told her. Used "strong armed" tactics to get publsihing rights and bought bc jean out. Thats still, stealing. Just cause your rich and able to buy your way out and strong arm something from someone doesnt make it right. Remember people tried to say taht Jasmine Sullivan copied her. The tried to straight dog Jazz talking about she redid B's song and didn't do a good job. I was like whatever, because Jasmine recorded that song when she was 16 years old... a loooong time ago. Not to mention, it wasn't Beyonce's song in the 1st thing. Just 1 more song she STOLE and put herself down as co-writer after changing up 3 or 4 words at the end.

Main stream public only knew hare from destiny's child, and she wasn't in that group as long as kelly and beyonce. He doesn't get the same funds to promote kelly as beyonce b/c beyonce proved she can return on the investment of her music while kelly and michelle hasn't. Becasuse think about it, during dangerously in love album when beyonce did first ladies tour, she had a smaller budget& promo from the label, but she had additional free promo from crazy in love n the public just started seeing her w/ jay. Now Bee doesn't have to prove anything anymore. While kelly has only really had one hit "Dilmmea" ...

I think that ppl r being 2 hard on matthew as manager for kelly. Kelly is huge overseas, and she is making money as is michelle.Ppl r not buying her albums in the U.S. b/c the songs she picked as singles were not good. I keep up w/ kelly n her music, and i heard her on the radio when she was promoting Ms. Kelly that she was in creative control and she pick all her own singles. Matthew can only give what he's got....
