  • @NaturallyNike, I don't have your curl definition to start with. My hair is SUPER tightly curled. Will the baking soda treatment work for me as well?

  • Is this a type of texturizer?

  • @si11001 For me its more like clarifying/conditioning treatment, I do it before deep conditioning since baking soda lifts the cuticles, and then do an ACV rinse afte DC to seal the cuticle...ive heard of some people having bulkyness taken away or their texture loosened a bit,but I hear more about it bring their curl pattern out, and cleansing hair without squeaky clean feeling. If you are worried about loosing your curl pattern start off with 1 tablespoon of baking soda , into 1cup of conditioner

  • @NaturallyNike What is evoo?

  • What is EVoo? and where do i find it?

  • @DiamondCutJeans EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and you can find it at your local grocery or supermarket

  • @NaturallyNike lol i realized what it was after i commented but thanks anyway! i tried the treatment. it did pretty nice for my hair.i'm still transition but it worked and once i flat ironed it it was so soft. i did this b4 i got my ends clipped and got compliments about the softness. Thanks 4 the video.

  • i like this song :) what song is this

  • @joyariffic It's Little bit by Drake.

  • @AtaroMorelia

Actually it's Lykke Li feat. Drake...

  • I wouldve checked out the pics but theres a virus in that site.

  • excellent tutorial...

  • I'm transitioning right now, and the baking soda treatment is cool for the new growth but the permed hair at the ends has an ISSUE with it. They just tangled like crazy! I'll be doing this more often once I bc. :)

  • Can you tell me who made the song that is playing. I love iy

  • lil bit by likke li

  • did see the dry look

  • okay, I'm using this ingredient! thanks!

  • I love you for using lykke li!

  • I LOVE it, BHM <3

  • Hey I have highlights and was wondering if the baking soda will strip the color?

Also the after pics, you said dry with no product, did you air dry?

  • The ques is so dumb I dnt even know how to ask it but.. how'd you rinse it out without scrubbing it in to your scalp?

  • You just run you hair under the water as your finger comb in the shower, when applying the treatment you have to try not to get it on your scalp.

  • ok thnx a lot!!!

  • ur hair came out nice.

i jus hav a few questions

wat is an acv rinse and wat is max time u will leave this treatment on for??

    thanks

  • I used the olive oil replenishing pack too..I got so paranoid of water it was. So I mixed it with aussi moist and the oak and it was thick. I love the way your hair came out.

  • wtf.. baking soda clarifys hair!

  • Yup, sure does!

  • Yes it sure does, but it also reduces frizz , while moisturizing the hair, thats why this is only done once a month...;-)

  • THANKS!!!

  • Hai, Loved your video!

    Question:What song is this?

  • A lil bit by Lykee Li, Drakes Version though

  • Just brought the same stuff girl. Will let you know how it went!

    Thks for the Tut!

  • can relaxd her ppl use this too? and do u have 2 wet ur hair b4 u do it?

  • Yes its perfect for relaxed heads, especially when you want to tame the new growth. No you dont hav eto wet your hair but you hair must be clean, but I do suggest that you do it on wet hair so it will be easy to get into hair.

  • Baking soda has a pH of 9 meaning it is an alkaline. Relaxers have a pH of anywhere from 9-13+. So yeah, baking soda will mildly "relax" your hair when left in for long periods of time. Plus the alkalinity raises your cuticle and can cause damage so it is important to do a ACV rinse afterward and perhaps maintain the health of the hair with protein or henna treatments (for strength) on a regular basis afterwards.

  • whats a ACV rince?

  • The apple cider vinegar rinse is part water part vinegar.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse, three parts water on part ACV, it good for clarifying, with out stripping hair of natural moisture.

  • Your vid is great im trying it (2morrow) and thanx for putting up the great music I really like Lykke li

do you know where i can find the Drake version thanks

  • is there a difference between baking soda and baking powder?

  • Yes there is,Baking Soda is just plain baking soda , while Baking Powder is a mixture of Baking Soda and some kind of base. Make sure to use pure Baking Soda for this treatment

  • this is freaky. we used the EXACT same products for this treatment. i had to do a doubletake. lol

  • lol are you serious?? thats funny lol

  • ....o yea this isnt by Drake its by Lykke li

  • Yes the original song is by Lykke Li, this is Drake's version

  • love lykke li!

  • thanks i will try it

  • I like your mixture you use...do you like it better with honey or without? I may try your mixture to see how it works...our hair texture is similiar so we'll see!

  • I like it waaay better with honey, I used to DC with Honey and Olive Oil alone, which makes hair soft and shiny . So I figured it would be great with my two fav conditioners.

  • I really like this song

  • I am doing this right now :)

  • Dont forget to hit me up wit your results :)

  • Most definitely will!

  • DO you wash it out after your 1 hour and 45 minutes?

  • Yes ;)

  • Thanxs Kimmay!! It's A Lil Bit by Drake , his whole album is hawt!! lol

  • can u do it on locked hair, cause i have sisterlocks, and sometime my hair is really dry?

  • Yes, i've read that it can be done on locked hair, it will give you smooth locks.

  • u look so much like my sister

  • Good tip about mixing the baking soda into the conditioners 1st. I definitely give this a try and if it works for me, then I'll try on my daughters' hair. (I have 2 little natural mini-me's!) Thanks for the tip; it will be added to my favorites!

  • is this song by drake
