@bakerandbaker1 The Voice Over, was exactly what I asked for. I asked Paul to do a spot on impression of the late William Conrad, and he did. I will defend his choices and his voice work with my dying breath. To be a proper parody, it has to be an exact mirror of what was done, with just a few things juxtaposed, and he did it perfectly!
LOVE IT! fantastic job - this may be "unofficial" but it completes the circle - there were many nods and references to Trek throughout the Buck Rogers series -
Is this the Daniel Caine version of the theme from "Fantastic TV Themes"? I can't find a clean version of the theme, not even on the Intrada soundtrack.
The opening Narroration for 'BR in the 25th-C' was done by the immortal William Conrad of 'Cannon'-fame as well as Nero Wolfe(Conrad also voiced an animal observation show--of which the name escapes me) among many others. And yes...this was very well done.
Watching the final scenes of the final 2nd Doctor story "The War Games", I am struck at how the footage of him falling through the time vortex (along with the concept of him being stranded on earth in the 20th century) would make a brilliant Buck Rogers intro, just as this is.
@Kelvington Awesome. It's something I have no hope of doing myself, I've never edited anything vid-related in my life. But I reckon you could do it right, and I think you could make it look awesome.
@adaw90 Thanks! All that was done with transitions inside Sony Vegas, they are just layered like 25 high, it was the hardest effect I had ever tried at the time.
Another triumph. Although it would have been better to put Gates McFadden in there, because Marina Sirtis wasn't in "Relics" at all except for the final scene. Which bothered me, because I carried a massive torch for her.
A reminder that James Duhaan was a Canadian D-day. He helped them advance the furthest of all allied nations that day. He was also wounded and sent back for rehabilatation.
I liked this a lot but of course, It is interesting that you used Marina Sirtis in the opening. I mean she is not in Relics save for that one season at the end
This isn't well known but James Duhann is Canadian war hero. He fought with the Canadian army on D-day in the first Canadian Army and helped them penetrate the farthest of all allied forces that day. He was wounded and sent to hospital near the end of the night.
Thanks, it's done with Vegas Video. The circles are actually transitions (about 30 of them) layered on top of each other. There was an actual sleepless night trying to figure out how to do that. But I was happy with the way it turned out.
It was that green stuff that Picard had given to Guinan...I forget exactly what it was. But Scotty was drinking it on the holodeck Enterprise (Constitution class) in the "Relics" episode.
I couldn't stop laughing at this. As a huge fan of Buck in my childhood (and having just watched the old intros again), I have to say that this is magnificent.
Love It! If you go onto "bentima7"'s videos, you'll find a very tacky buck rogers intro spoof dedicated to our tribute band, Who's Renown. All The Best.
Gene Roddenberry made a tv pilot in the 70's with a similar frozen in time plot, The concept was reinvented into Andromeda in 2000. Can somebody make a Dylan Hunt Buck roger montage?
This was honestly one of the best things I have ever seen. If there was some sort of feature where I could credit you with vast amounts of funds, I would in an instant.
You are EXACTLY correct, but for the sake of the comedy of it, and making the voice over sound as close to the original as possible, we made him the pilot. Although his rank was in fact Captain, as he is called Captain Scott in the episode. But I'm glad you were the FIRST to point out the discrepincy! If I had a prize, I would give it to you! Well done!
There is only one problem with this vid: the vo is terrible. It should've been done in the vein of Shatner's Kirk.
