this show was way too good to be cancelled like it was. katherine helmond who played jessica was a beautifull woman it was so sad the way she died and later returned on the show benson as a ghost but, wow she looked absolutely gorgous for a ghost!
@doctorw2 I'll never understand why the writers like Susan Harris didn't make a 2-part story of Benson & Krause going to that country on a rescue mission to find out whether or not Jessica was still alive in his own show. That would've gave Soap a satifiable closure.
@doctorw2 I saw that episode--it was revealed that Jessica is in a coma somewhere on that country. I thought it was kind of a lame closure. Should've been more climatic. Benson is known for climatic moments.

On Soap, Robert Urich proved that he was as good at comedy as he was at drama. I remember the investigating officer (played by Gordon Jump) mentioning that Peter Campbell was "shot, stabbed, strangled, suffocated, and bludgeoned". The show always had a strange sense of humor!
It was Chester. Jessica was convicted and served a bit of time in prison before it was later revealed that her husband Chester Tate actually killed Peter Campbell.
@Thebigbadwoof And Chester only served a brief amount of time in prison, as well. It would turn out that Chester suffered from a brain tumor and that's how he ended up becoming a murderer. (But that was part of season 2 of the show that Crackle has posted).
I never heard of this before my boyfriend brought the dvd at half price books(and i mostly watch nick at night and tvland) since i don't trust online buying it hard finding season 2 in stores! :(
