I think this one and "Bring It With You" are my favorites from the album. 20 solid tunes for a wee price. One of my best purchases ever. Hope the album will sell very well, just like it should. Well Peri, you Rock! How about hearing that from a 20-year-old? =D
@MGSGeneral Man, it brings a tear to my eye! I don't think Bring It With You was ever posted on YouTube. It's certainly not here now, but I do intend to do a video remix of it as my next project.
Good song Peri. A variation from you more recent ramblings.
Mind you, when I'm in charge, I'm going to copyright the Oxford Dictionary. That way anytime you say anything you'll be due me loads of money. Ha! Ha! Ha!.
Jeez I'm staring to sound like Gene Simmons. God help me if that ever happens.
Great song, reminds me of Lennon-McCartney. Since no one's figured out how to copyright air, they're working on ruining all the free stuff so they can sell us little purified bottles of it -- now there's a moneymaker!
Wow Peri! That song blew me away. Excellent song with awesome lyrics. This is so going on my iPod-- oh, I mean my portable media player. I wouldn't want to favour any particular brand, lol).
awesome vid!! someone's got a lot of work coming their way!!! the amount of possible lawsuits contained therein, have you counted???
reminded me a little of the Beatles' "Taxman" song "if you take a walk they'll tax your feet"....
although i think this issue is much more insidious. of course George Harrison had to pay out over reputed plagiarism of "My Sweet Lord" which he was very bitter about. i wonder what he would have made of all this...
McCartney is on record(!) as saying he and John had no idea thta nyone could own a song when they first started out. It does seem antithetical to what the free love generation stood for. The point of the song and the video is to push the copyright issue a little bit further. This video is "monetized" too, which makes it even more interesting.
Great one Peri! Thanks for sharing the bookcases -- it shed some light on a few things. :-)
I saw the DMCA thing coming with Renetto and This I believe, but part of me hoped it wouldn't happen because the point of the essays was so good, and in most cases, I liked his delivery.
At least we can count on something in this world, eh? DMCA.
Ackpht!
(Oh, shoot! That is probably copyrighted by Bill the Cat.)
Watch a video on Google called "The future of food" and you will find that seeds have been patented (including genetically unmodified varieties). Scarier yet, the same video states that some corp. has patented a strain of breast cancer: want to research a cure for that cancer, better pony up the licensing fee...
Yeah, Kembrew MacLeod's book "Freedom of Expression" which is available as a free PDF download covers all those issues and more. THEY want to copyright everything, stick it away in a vault and produce it when someone else tries to use it. It is the death of culture and the end of science.
Now about that book you were reading to Lily mid-way through this: Did you purchase the family license for that book, or a single-reader only license? Because if you shared it under a single-reader license you're in big trouble buddy.
Great rockin' song! It'll be all over the clubs by later tonight!
That was cool! Is that you singing? When was this recorded? It's interesting to see what you have laying around in your book cases. Eclectic. Like your voice!
When you find the time, you should. You should also try "The Ocarina of Time", another Zelda-game. Anyway, I'm downloading this song, is there any difference between the usual and stereo (except from the obvious)?
No download difference, if that's what you mean. The stereo thing here on YT is all screwed up. It seems that the same video has two different URLs, but they don't tell you about the stereo one. But the same infor and comments etc comes up against both. It's sideways.
