its a aluminum block 3528 cc Rover V8 engine they bought the tooling from Buick in January 1965 The Rover V8 began life as the Buick 215, an all-aluminum engine introduced for the 1961 model year
@alexandercraig - it's a rover 3.5litre alloy v8. This was actual model of the MGB GT, released with this V8 as standard.
For that reason, it's very easy to get compliance (here in australia) for putting the rover v8's into the MGB's, because you're essentially recreating a "stock" configuration that was already approved
@happymerc haha I actually went to a race where a BGT V8 raced against about four Shelby's....it lapped all of them and the mustang owners were pissed
@tortillabadger haha hell yea. it's like when the mgb v8's smoke ferraris etc....they get pissed cuz they paid top dollar and got owned by some car they've never heard of, and thinking they have the best car in the world.
I love a british V8.

alexandercraig, it is a Rover V8 engine that is souped up for racing. It's probably got a fuel cell and they more than likely took the muffler off.
