All cities in every country have their beautiful places and their ghettoes, their nice neighborhoods and their not so nice ones. I love to travel but I focus on the beauty of the country and its culture, its museums, the art and music and the people themselves. All cities have their crime areas and their safe areas. I hope that I will someday be able to visit Cuba. Cuba has an interesting history.
Great musicians, artists, writers, and actors have come from Cuba and have made great contributions
perlitahabanera.. dont compare Mexico to Cuba, by no means they are equal.. In mexico you can do what ever you want, that there is Mafia and bad polititians there are but you can go to school, university, etc and so many things that you couldnt do in Cuba...XX

Great video! I have been in Cuba already three times. The first travel has been in 2004 to Santiago de Cuba. A fantastic city with lots of lovely and very, very friendly people!!! I hope to be there again soon !
thats what my mom says whenever we go to cuba: its like a totally different planet(: i was born there i go to cuba every year. i haven't been to santiago yet like my sister, but hopefully i can go there soon and see my cousins :D they say its beutiful with high mountains. cant wait to goooo
Thank you for the very well narrated video about Santiago, Cuba. I have always enjoyed reading about Cuba and would love to travel there to see the beautiful countryside. I try to get movies filmed in Cuba just to enjoy the wonderful scenery.
I have read several books about the Cuban Revolution in 1959 and find the history fascinating. I have many friends who are of Cuban ancestry and they are wonderful fun loving lovely people to be with. Cuban music is one of my favorites.
Thank you for the kind comments about my Cuban videos. Cuba is always a fascinating place to visit, it is a place full of contradictions and absolutely unique. And Cuban music is fabulous.
Thank you. Im glad you liked my country. But most of all you were not disrespectful in any way about it and for that you have my gratitude and respect. Your a very kind warm hearted person.
@SGTdebo305 If I ever go to Cuba I will try to go there. Cuba has the best fruit and seafood dishes. I love fish and seafood and could eat it every day. The country side and beaches are beautiful. Cuban music is also one of my favorites. I have some CD's by the Havana Social Club and Canaveral, Javier Cougat ,etc.
and my favorite Rey de la Torre, the best classical guitarist from the 1950s to the 1980s and would still be if he was still alive. He was the only one good enough to rival Segovia.
I was born in Cuba, unfortunately although this video captures the city side it does not capture its true beauty. For example, the farms, actual country not city, and tourist sites. Not until 2010, residents of Cuba were not allowed in the tourist sites. Now you can get the true beauties of Cuba along with its natural environment (cubans) hahahaha. Furthermore, if you want to see its beauty I recommend to save the money your wasting on videos about it and go. You will not regret it
@eddie47012 Thank you for your comment. I enjoyed hearing from someone who has actually lived there. I would give anything to go there. Perhaps now that the US is allowing tourism to Cuba I may someday be able to go. My favorite classical guitarist was born in Cuba..Rey de la Torre. He was the only one who could play as well as if not better than Andres Segovia from Spain. Unfortunately he became ill and had to give up his music and began to teach others to play the guitar. He died so young.
@laChabela42: Thank you for the nice comments and I am glad you enjoyed the video. Cuba is a phenomenally fascinating place - hopefully you will have a chance to go there.
I's so easy to admire Cuba from afar. No doubt we are good people, with a lot of sense of humor, and try to see our desgrace in a humoristic way. Many there has families that send them the dollars and they don't even have to work because whatever they get is way more than they can earn in months. Of course they ought to be content, but talk to the people that don't have family in out of Cuba that can help them see their face walking fast looking all worry. You can even see that in the tape.
@PerlitaHabanera OMG don't u think I understand that. I made a simple point, again, we have everything and still we bitch and complain. They have nothing, yet they sing, when I would be crying. Yes, drs, engineers work as bartenders, I am well aware of the goings on down there. That is why I visit as often as I can. I feel that what I give is making a little bit of difference and really put a smile on somone's face.
@empressoffrance Listen COME DOWN!!! you taking things out of proportion. I didn't say nothing wrong for you to get all bent out of shape. I don't make you do anything ok, so don't blame me if you want to repeat yourself.
@PerlitaHabanera** Cuba is not a disgrace. You should be proud of Cuba. I am an embarrassed American who thinks the embargo the US put on Cuba is shameful. Because of our coercion of other countries to stop trade with Cuba we deprived the people of needed medical and other supplies. I am ashamed everytime the US butts into other country's affairs and feel bad about what my country did to Cuba and yet they are so loving and kind and make the best of what they do have. You should be very proud!
@laChabela42 who said that Cuba is a 'disgrace'?. Don't put words in my mouth, I have not said. YES! I am a proud cuban, but I am NOT proud of the totalitarian regime that Castro has in Cuba. And about the 'embargo', you should know that US has been sending medical supplies and medicine through humanitarian organizations to Cuba and Castro sell them to the tourists. We cubans are 3rd class citizens, and I am sure YOU KNOW why I say that.
@PerlitaHabanera I guess I misunderstood what you said but quoting your very words you said:" No doubt we are good people, with a lot of sense of humor, and try to see our DESGRACE in a humoristic way." That is why I said that Cuba is not a disgrace. We cannot account for what our governments do. I am ashamed of what my country does to other countries but I am still proud of many things about the US. Cuba seems to be a great country with good, honest, hardworking people who do the best they can.
@TheIdealist97: Thank you for your kind comment. Calle Enramada is one of the liveliest streets in Santiago de Cuba. A great place for people watching, it's also provides an opportunity to see what Cuban retail stores look like.
It is a shame how we treat our fellow human beings. As an American, I am not allowed into Cuba even though I could go to China, Vietnam, Iran, North Korea, and even Libya. Is this right that if I go there to visit and communicate with the people of Cuba and to open their minds, that I am not allowed to even set foot there without suffering a severe penalty arriving back into the United States of America? I wonder who has more freedom sometimes. You, or me, living in America? how sad it is.
@203207ab You are allowed. Many US citizens do visit. When you arrive in Cuba they will not stamp your passport bcs they know you will get flack when you go back home to the US. They say bad things about Cuba but are you that afraid of your own government? Fly to Canada then onto Cuba if you are that concerned. They welcome Americans though. Although a lot of tourists state that if the US was allowed back in they would not visit again.
@empressoffrance Dayron25 is correct. US Citz do visit although I do not think they are allowed the all inclusive. I may be wrong. You would have to fly from Canada for that. One resort is for deep sea divers only and it is truly beautiful. I love Club Bucanero, Santiago De Cuba, although I have visited 5 other places including Havana and I just love Cuba and its people. The US is dead wrong in what it is doing but hey they want all the tourists they can get. Sorry if I sound sarcastic.
@empressoffrance **I am an American who would also like to visit Cuba. Can I fly there by way of Mexico? I am ashamed of what the US has done to Cuba with the shameful embargo and cringe everytime we butt into the affairs of other countries. I am glad that China and Venezuela do not pay attention to our country and maintain trade with Cuba. Other countries follow the US because they do not want to lose financial aid and loans. I hope more countries will trade with Cuba to help their economy.

computer for the cuban family. She should've took a cuban in there and see if they can use the internet. Everything looks fine from the inside, and nice for the tourists. Looks are deceiving. Is like going to a nice place in México and say look everything is fine. Then why mexicans and cubans risk their lives to leave the country or there are political prisoners in Cuba. Things are not like they look lady.
@PerlitaHabanera I am sure they have the internet. They have tv's now and it saddens me to watch the Cubans watch tv and see how easy we have it and they are so poor but very proud. Anyone going, please take down, good used clothing to give away, toys, books, anything. They will show their appreciation by bringing you fruit. They don't want something for nothing. So poor yet they sing coming to work whereas we have plenty and bitch and complain.
@empressoffrance@empressoffrance Cuba was the second country who adoptes color television and one one of the first when it was invented. And about internet, regular cubans ARE NOT allowed to get in the internet. They have internet in the hotels and it cost fron 8-12 dollars for one hour, and a regular cuban can't afford that. cont.
@empressoffrance cont. Firstable the 20 dollars a month is the most a Cuban can earn. An all that you say that they go to work 'singing' what do you think that Cuba is a paradise? jajaja if that was true, why so many risk their lives in the ocean to come to the states, come on..!!
@PerlitaHabanera Cubans are allowed to leave Cuba whenever. The only problem is, they have to find their own means of getting across to Miami. J. Carter let the Cubans into the US and Castro had the last laugh, he emptied all the prisons. The Cubans now in Miami have been very resourceful and have acquired a lot of new businesses and many are now wealthy.
@empressoffrance Lsten find Remolcador del 13 de Marzo and see those videos and then tell me if people can leave if the want. I was one of the ones who came in Mariel, '80 and yes, Castro did send a lot of criminals, mentally ill, and people with contagious desease, leprosy etc. but out of 125, 000 only 25,000 were criminals. Some of them are still in jail and others deported. With that said, 25,000 out of 125,000 were not the mayority as many think.
@empressoffrance You don't comprehend very well. I meant that with all we have, we bitch and complain. Early in the morning around 5am I am up and see the women walking to the hotel and they are singing and laughing. We don't do that, now do we? In their hearts of course they wish they had more and a better life but they are not sour and dour like us. They are hoping for change and I hope it comes soon. U are probably one of those who don't tip, don't give a shit about them.
@empressoffrance And about that woman, that was singing 'walking to the hotel" of course she is happy. Or you don't know that working for the tourists is the best job a person can have in Cuba. Doctors, engineers, tech, profesional people with education rather work as a waitres for a tourist because they can get tips. No wonder that women was so happy. I will be, too if I was her!!
@PerlitaHabanera I guess I am talking to a brick wall. Yes u are lucky if you are employed by a resort. Guests always leave tips and clothing. My point is and pls don't have me repeat myself again. They have nothing but yet they are friendly and don't complain. Yes the bartender was trained as a dr. They are educated people. We bitch and complain over the slightest thing they don't. They work as waiters, etc., bcs they have no other options. Now do u understand.

They work as waiters, etc., bcs they have no other options. Now do u understand.
