I watched this episode and the one with Natalie Wood, and I have to be honest she can never compete with the late Wood.Natalie was far more pretty and talented, too bad she was under rated, while Liz was over rated.
@nema1218 I understand. She was something for sure! Natalie was a true beauty and talent. And you know, since both were child stars they had some things in common.
I love Elizabeth Taylor forever! Great Lady with a heart of gold. Who was a loyal and dear friend to many. I wish I could have met her. But we all have her Movies and Books that will live on long after who ever is reading this is dead! RIP Beauty!
OMG!!! Elizabeth Taylor, is beautiful!!!! And to top it off, she was also a very well-skilled actress, she really shines in ""The Last Time I Saw Paris"" (1954), ""Giant"" (1956), ""Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"" (1958) ""BUtterfield 8"" (1960), and ""Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"" (1966). Long live ELIZABETH TAYLOR!!!!!!!
Everyone talks about her looks and her beauty, which is incredible, but that's getting old. How about let's talk about how charming and funny this woman is here! She should have done more comedies! I've thought that ever since I saw her in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? too she had some funny moments that were a riot!
There is beauty, then again there is that sort of radiant charisma that she and Marilyn Monroe had, which kicks it up several notches. She was a dream.
@okonh0wp The format changed as the years went on. During the first few seasons, the panelists could ask as many questions as they wanted until they got a "No." answer. Later on in the show's run, the format changed to one question at a time.
there was so much game show fixing back in those days that i am not entirely sure that this was one of the ones that was fixed'.... as the panel may have known who was the guests in advance
@etrax2000 Good observation. It sure did seem so on some occaisions because some of the panelists came up with the correct answer on who the guest was much too easily.
Their use of language, in the sense that it is more of an art and should at all times be dealt with complete care outcries our present use, or rather misuse of it. A language that has tarnished under the guise of entertainment, or what I'd like to call the demise of our human race. How I wish I lived in the 50's
Elizabeth Taylor did a brilliant southern accent and was a fantastic guest...This show's lineup of guests over the years must rival Larry King's list of guests he has had on Larry King Live over the years, and shows like The Dick Cavett Show and The Dinah Shore Show...Brilliant concept, brilliant show, brilliant panel, brilliant host, brilliant guests...Brilliant!
She used a version of that funny little voice years later when she portrayed Louella Parsons in the film "Hedda and Louella". Liz was interviewed about Louella, whom she had known very well, and she said that "Louella had one of those annoying little whiny voices that at times, made you just want to SMACK her!" She said it with a laugh in her voice, so you knew that she wasn't too terribly serious about it.
Liz couldn't wait for the show to be over so she could get it on with Big Daddy John Daly. She couldn't get enough of that stud. Always kept him in tight swimming trunks and hard liquor.
love the accent, she sounds so sweet... she defo knew how to make people roar with laughter, imagine if she had done stand up comedy, now that would of been something worth paying to see! if i could say something to her it would be: 'i love you Liz, you have been my idol since i was a baby & will always be till the day my eyes close forever! i miss you'.. i'm 16 in june & i'm dressing up as her in tribute :D
haha what a bunch of schmohawks. she was totally british thats why she was a dame for fucks sake. she was born in england. i dunno whats up with the yanks. they are so pathetic over identity. millions of the idiots call themselves irish, not even irish-american. but irish. even though there only connection was that their grandad once visited dublin for a pint of guiness. lol stupid fuckers.
@JPLV I wasn't trying to be cool by saying that. I really did watch this( many times actually) I think it's the funniest one and I always watched this when I needed a good laugh, then only a couple months after I learned of her death :( I sense the sarcasm, but I wasn't trying to be anything but sincere.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! A extremely beautiful lady! She was a also a very talent actress, check her out in, "The Last Time I Saw Paris" (1954), "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958), "BUtterfield 8" (1960), " Cleopatra" (1963), "The V.I.P.s (1963), and, "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
