  • adblocker works on chrome, too

  • I agree, I have watched each episode more than 50 or 60 times. I guess I am a trekkie!

  • The commissioner has every right to be angry and over reactive. She was a bit annoyed at Star fleet medical at first, but when they were pulled off course it basically signed her death certificate. She was angry and scared she was dying, off course she's going to be upset and take everything personally.

  • What is the ep (if there is one I might have seen it on another show) where Kirk losses his memory and thinks he's a mible of a planets tribe. Could someone plz tell me. Thank you.

  • @DawnHeart15 The Paradise Syndrome, in Season 3

  • "Now that I can see her, touch her (Fuck her,) I know that I love her." You humans are so illogical.

  • Ms..Heafer We'are doing what we can when we can so you might as well just sit back... and STFU.

    bish.

  • I hope the singing fish burn down Hillshire Farms.

  • the commissioner is a babe

  • pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft I love how half the comments are talking about the commercials

  • I know this is almost completely irrelevant, but, in the Hillshire farm commercial....on what world do children think a pudding cup is worth more than a cookie? When I was younger, I would much rather have a cookie than a pudding cup....Just sayin.

  • I'm so tired of the hilshire farms commercial.

  • This chick is a terrible actress.

  • @3link1 who cares about her acting abilities, what we care is how pretty she is

  • as much as i like seafood, im absolutely sick of that singing fish commercial

  • Fantastic! Talking to alien beings with a modified deluxe sheep shaver! Once again ahead of its time. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

  • @batbawls u did not just spoil, you p.o.s.

  • I wonder what they told the girl's family?

  • it seems like the writers realized they had a plot hole at the end when McCoy asks kirk about the war that that women was going to stop and basically said "fuck it star fleet will find sombody else to fill in this major plot hole"

  • y not have the shuttle craft leave a radio there or something so you can be in contact with the ourside world...have visitors instead of it being you two forver.

  • Anyone ever notice during the theme song a lone bongo player hitting the bongo off rhythm? Sounds strange, with every episode I watch, I hear it more and more..

  • @RealityDefenseLeague

Star Trek was a Desilu production. That means Desi Arnaz

and Lucille Ball. What you hear is the influence of Arnaz's latin

    style of music.

  • She's not that hot.

  • Maybe LaForge could have told cochrane to stay out of space during First Contact?

  • @jdskinny212 He and Kirk had an agreement not to disclose what happened.

  • @jdskinny212

If Cochrane had stayed out of space he would

have died of old age instead of being preserved

    by the Companion.

  • Fasinating:D

  • nice ears mr spok

  • Cochran reminds me of Charles "Tripp" Tucker at some points. The voice, smile, all similar.

  • @DragonsShallRise Except with Cochran I don't expect him to have a confederate flag painted on his Ford pickup.

  • that jewish comedian sarah comedian would be a great replacement if there was ever an update series for this one show. :-)

  • Did the writers not care to address potential future children after all that innuendo about joining?

  • Yep. My favorite episode.

  • Elinor Donahue just rocks this episode. Her “never been loved” scene that starts at 35:43 gets me every time.

  • The epicness of 11:40 cannot be overstated. Haha!

  • Gotta tell ya... this episode made me cry.

It's funny how the characters use such socially conservative, backward language, yet the actual plot and structure express themes of tolerance. You could write a book applying the Linguistic Relativity Principle to Star Trek TOS.

  • I don't care what anyone says. Kirk is a baller.

  • You might as well sit back and.....enjoy......the......ride......

    YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Kirk just needed to be removing some sunglasses.

  • I believe the sculpture on the wall in Cochran's house appeared in Jean Luc Picard's quarters in Next Generation. Alot of set props were re-used from the original series in Next Gen. Take a close look at backgrounds between the two shows...youll be surprised.

  • I just can't get over those super mod pants. Go baby, yeah!

  • If this comment... is marked as spam... enough... it will... cease to exist.

  • I wonder how many times Kirk says the phrase "cease to exist" in this episode.

And I love how focused Spock is on his scientific research. Even when Kirk is trying to persuade the companion he attempts to have him conduct research.

Very poignant episode, a lot of quotable lines and the music was mesmerizing

  • Ok, when the companion appeared, did Spock really think the most logical course of action was to stick his hand in it?

  • I'm not gonna lie, the woman they brought with them is pissing me off.

  • Kirk is a bit mean to this alien

  • Great book (Did these stories really happen?) at amazon has great Shatner dedication!

  • hopefully life elsewhere in the universe can spell unlike BondFreek

  • @TheZoltan8888. Hopfully life elsewahere in the universe is more polite unlike

    TheZoltan8888

  • Comment removed

  • 35:17 Hmm... Sound familiar to anyone?

  • Gotta love the hidden meaning around 35:00 <3

  • this episode was really good. but on the science level ..kind of boring. i really enjoy the episodes shrouded in the mysteries of the universe.....revisiting these "human" attributes from the POV of the aliens is ....uneventful to me.

  • statement based on no facts whatsoever

  • That is not true. What about the meteorite recovered in the arctic? It contained fossils of life forms. And we have discovered more and more stars have planets around them. We will not know for shore in our life time but I believe that life is every ware in the universe. Otherwise it would be a waste of space.

  • where is episode 8?

  • 13:50 spock doesn't say any thing because he is supposedly 109 yrs old

  • What?

  • go to wikipedia it says he is 109 in this version and 155 in the new movie

  • Don't ever believe wikipedia. Most of what is up there are lies. Spock is only a year older than Kirk, which would make Kirk 109 as well. >_>

  • my bad sorry

  • Lol, its fine. :D Misconceptions are common online. Kirk is only 30something so Spock is a year older than that.

  • Leonard Nimoy is only a four days older then William Shatner.

And how can Spock be only a year older then Kirk, when he served on the Enterprise, under Captain Pike, for 18 years before Kirk took command?

  • Comment removed

  • Nimoy is four days YOUNGER then Shatner. He picks on him about it at Conventions.

  • Not their actors. Their roles. Spock is a year older than Kirk in the series. And Spock is a Vulcan. he is super smart. All of this info comes from Memory Alpha, the pretty legit site for ST info. He served those years when he was in his 20s. It isn't impossible.

  • @Demithegoddess than

  • @empbox THEM As in others.

  • @empbox

    And they are both Jewish.

  • It never said he served 18 yrs under Pike. In TOS, he served 18 yrs in total so far, which made sense since they were mid-30s in the series.

  • there is only one zefrem cochrane, and he is glenn corbett! ~

  • lol. This whole episode is an allusion to interracial relationships. (or if you look at it even deeper with Spock and Kirk involved, same sex relationships)

  • that dam commisioner or watever is so damn over reactive

  • yes they do have furries, Caitian, cat like species, an off shoot of the Kzinti, but where the Kzinti are hostile to the federation, Caitians are members, M'Ress was relief communications officer on the enterprise.

  • 150years waiting :)

  • wow, vfabs31, you've felt up a cheetah? jk, it just almost sounded like that's what you meant. =3

  • awesome technology.... hehehe.

  • wha...? no commercials?? THANK YOU TARGET!

  • holy sh*t star trek first contact

  • This episode was beautiful but depressing at the same time =P

  • I've never had a problem with the commercial sound being loud, it's always the same as the show.

  • Dat's wutt i doo . . . woiks f' me

  • or they could just record the commercials at the same or a relatively similar level of volume as the show...so everyone doesnt have to get a shock and hit the mute button when the commerial comes on. Do you really think you're the only person to notice the volume button? I agree with them. It's annoying to have the volume for the commercials that high and defeats the purpose of the commercials since the natural reation is to hit the mute.

  • Ahh love...

  • I'm surprised that Cochrane would be so disgusted with interspecies love and be so narrowminded on the subject. He was obviously aware of the existence of other species....he did recognize Spock as being a Vulcan. And he is on a planet far away in the galaxy...what did he think the companion was? The companion has cared for him for 150 years and they have developed an emotionally stable, practical, and beneficial relationship. It is illogical for him to reject her/ it so fast.

  • well farren, knowing of other species is different than being turned on by them. he regards it as bestiality, and he's not totally wrong. it's not the same as feeling up a cheetah obviously, but it's a similar concept

  • i never get tired of watching this series. i think i seen each episode 20 times lol.

  • @kevgb48 have you slept since that ?

  • Damn this is great; old episodes like this I've only seen near the end; now I get to see them in full; I keep saying it, but here we go again-- thanks CBS! It is appreciated

  • The name of the shuttlecraft is wrong: in season one the Galileo burns up in reentry in the episode: The Galileo Seven after the crew are transported to the enterprise

  • the musical scores in this episode are the essence of star trek, sublime and mysterious

  • 49:01 - 49:04 CLASSIC KIRK PRETTY BOY

  • So that's it? The commissioner dies on a planet with a 200 year old man? They just leave her there? Doesn't this woman have a mother who will worry about her? She might as well have been a red shirt.

  • Gotta love it. An episode where Kirk doesn't wind up with the babe.

  • I have an ad blocker called "no-ads" on my computer... it blocks everything from commercials here to flash ads and pop-ups.

  • yea right

the ad is like connected with the video, block the ad and the video is blocked too

  • well it works 'cause I can still watch this stuff with no commercials :)

whether you believe me is up to you

  • ad blockers work to get rid of the commercials. I move right past them with Firefox with adblocker plus.

  • Didn't work for me, any other ideas? I'm getting sick of Brooke Shields

  • Your virus protection might also do the trick. Mine came with a firewall that stops advertisements. I don't think you want to pay for stopping ads though. Adblocker plus should have worked with Firefox...weird.

  • @ClimbaRock5

Click on all the yellow lines along the timeslot. Those are all the commercials so if you watch them first you can go back to the beginning and watch the show uninterrupted.

  • Firefox with adblock extension also allows you to watch the episodes without the commercials.

  • Does this stop playing and go to the end screen at 00:45 for anyone else?

  • yeah that kept happening on episode 3... it kept stopping halfway through and going to the end

  • Stupid ass commercial is too fucking loud!!!!

  • That was a weird episode. What I want to know is what happens to the possesed body's family when they find out she went missing and no reports are made about her? Will her human half die first? What if the Companion unpocesses (sp?) her? I don't know, it was just so confusing!

  • brooke shields, worthless celebrity who can't act and her only claim to fame is beauty and a bunch of girl fans who want to be her. commecial alone says it all. all she can do is shop, not think.

  • tell us how you really, feel eddtoro lol. Nevertheless, i agree with you.

  • cochrane is a racist!

  • commercials im not getting any commercials

  • i still can't get used to how loud the commercials are in relation to the film

  • it's ellie!!! i never recognize any of the random women on this show. this is a first!

  • The dude knows of Vulcans yet doesn't know of the Federation.?

  • You need to see the movie Star Trek First Contact. James Cromwell (Farmer Hoggett in Babe) plays Chocrane.

  • Thats probably because Vulcans contacted Earth quite a while before they helped found the Federation.

  • Cochrane is responsible for First Contact. The alien species that first made contact with Earth were Vulcans, so Cochrane would know what they look like. The Federation wasn't formed until something like a hundred years after the first warp capable flight was made. Check out Star Trek: First Contact for more info.

  • Kirk seems to question his command abilities a lot in season 2.

  • Ever notice the modern art, like everywhere.

  • @clickgal haha yes! the string art on the wall of the bedroom is my favorite.

  • Spectre of the gun"

  • They were also unwelcome in , "Specter of a Gun"

  • poor mr. spock always being picked on, or have disasters happen to him.

  • the companion has the power to undertand the real love

  • Haha, I love Spock explaining the concept of love. XD

  • wait. so am i to understand that the 'companion' just took over the other woman's body and everybody's ok w/ that?! =O

    so confused...

  • A blind man could see it with a cane! LOL! She was going to die anyway.

  • She merged with her, or the part of her that was left as she was dying. She saved that part. The entire woman would have ceased to exist otherwise.

  • It seems that every planet they land on is conveniently suited for human life :P

  • Not all of them. Squire of Gothos didn't have a welcoming planet, and I forget the other.

But I'd guess they just don't bother even being in the vicinty of planets that they couldn't survive on.

  • i dont think theyre going to land there if it doesnt

  • i thought the galilao burned up

  • She was gonna die anyway.... LOL ahhh love!

  • these episodes are random.. it is possible that this galileo is the one that blew up in the "earlier" episodes.. maybe check the stardates...

  • Ok, I can uderstand the prop department being lazy enough to recyle NOMAD into the Romulan cloaking device... But if memory serves, the Galileo was destroyed in season 1. Now even if the Enterprise was issued a new shuttle craft also named Galileo, it would be the Galileo II. So why is it this one has no such markings? Is it that had to get a stensil set and paint on the number 2? *End griping session, resume episode.*

  • then that deckard guy also used the shuttle craft to drive straight into the doomsday machine and i though, wasn't that destroyed in episode Galileo 7, so it should be galileo 3. these episodes don't link together...

  • they keep the same names as they replace the crafts. similar to the many "enterprise" ships that have existed

  • If I recall correctly, in "The Wrath of Khan" there's a shuttlecraft called the Galileo as well.

  • yeah

  • and the Galileo Seven

  • Did you guys ever stop to think maybe they just built a new one and named it Galileo? It's not that big a jump in logic.

  • Any Zeitgeist guys on here want to take a shot at whats hangin on the wall behind Kirk at 12:45?

  • jimi6465 - might be too highbrow for this crowd; but, thanks for trying to raise the IQ levels around here.

    Big hornet's nest???

  • Something made out of old toilet paper tubes....

Henceforth to be known as "art".....

  • lol I had not noticed the first time but yea, there is clearly a cross there. Good eye.

  • 23:16

    Spock = Sexy

  • whew.. i agree!!! hehe

  • Bones: Spock! Are you all right?

Spock: Yes...quite all right, Doctor. A most fascinating thing happened. Apparently the Companion imparted to me a rather quaint, old-fashioned electric shock-- of respectable voltage.

    Bones: It ATTACKED you?

    Spock: Evidently.

    lol. Gotta love the dialogue.

  • Ugh these viagra commercials are KILLING me.i mean, who cares about old people having sex.Look at me!i'm 48 years old and still doing it.

  • pfff old people need to have fun, too!

  • Leonard Nimoy is the man LOL. But he can't compare to Bones. Bones is my number one favorite Star Trek character but Spock is a close second.

I'm sad when I watch these, that DeForest Kelly is gone, and William Shatner as well as Leonard Nimoy are growing older, and older, and it just hurts my heart to think about losing them too :(

  • Bones is an entertaining character, but is a horrible doctor, he can't seem to do much else other than wave the salt shaker and say "he's dead jim" but that stuff is what made this show timeless

  • Hey, growing old is not so bad if you can do it together. LOL! They said so in this episode.

  • Maybe one of the top 5 episodes.

  • You'd think he'd at least asked for some supply drops. If they have kids are they just going to leave them there to die out?

  • I've always loved this one. With just a few actors and really just one set they achieve such a moving episode, sad and beautiful.

  • is it just cause i started watching this at five in the morning on the day or my latin exam or were the man and woman in this episode really annoying. idk why...but i do hope they put up the missing episode...

  • Wait... where is episode 8?

  • dunno why they don't have it, but it features the return of harry mudd. it's called I, Mudd

  • Knowing CBS, I bet Episode 8 had something deemed politically incorrect, and they don't trust us to see it.

  • I've noticed alot of missing episodes, and double numbers, I think they all may be here, just poorly sorted.

  • All the episodes are present and in order. Just check the Star Trek youtube channel.

  • @ myeglantine16

the channel "startrek" is suspended, the channel "star trek" does not currently exist. if your referring to CBS's channel, but from season 2, episode 8 "I, Mudd" is not there, and in season 3, Episode 4, "and the children shall lead" is also MIA, I noticed some others before, and some double and triple numbers, meaning there were three shows labled episode 8 in the same season, I would appreciate if you reply a little research. Its all on wikipedia ;)

  • I'd appreciate it if you had your eyes checked. It's actually episode 8 ("Miri") of Season 1; episodes 8 ("I, Mudd"), 19 ("A Private Little War"), & 20 ("Return to Tomorrow") of Season 2; and episode 4 ("And the Children Shall Lead") of Season 3 that are missing. There are no double or triple numbers. No duplicates. Pardon my error for not noticing the numbers to the left. By the way, your paragraph could use a little help with grammar. It's all on wikipedia. ;)

  • @myeglantine16-

I had to rewrite that to get it in the comment limit, when I did win7 beta glitched out some text. I wasn't trying to list every little imperfection, (hopefully summed up in "I noticed some others before") I just wanted to show you enough for you to accept that theres missing shows. Also no, the duplicates are fixed, I have a screen shot somewhere if you NEED to see it. I tried to combine the duplicate numbers in the past tense run-on sentence. And you are pardoned.

  • 29:49 So, I see you have constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete. Indeed, you are as powerful as the Emperor has foreseen.

  • Lol. That is what it looks like. wow. never noticed that before.

  • damn that showtime commercial: "IT'S TIME..." indeed... time to have my ears BLASTED OFF!
