i've tested cruze , civic and also corolla altis. all of them got 1.8 l engine and automatic transmission. in term of power i couldn't find any noticeable difference. In term of comfort altis is the best. in term of interior styling i like cruze's the best. exterior wise i like both altis and civic (i'm not a fan of cruze headlights and radiator grill). but civic did excel in term of handling. it just feel right. it was sharp.

Cruze definitely replaced the Cobalt. And is a pretty good economy car. Doesn't have the best mileage of all the economy cars out there, but has an amazing ride. Plus the base stereo system is amazing, and comes standard with remote-start.

American brand lovers can say things are changing, specially Ford is catching up in reliability but they have been saying that since the end of the 90's and the Japanese are still king of reliability. @tammam90 That is strange, I went from a 1989 accord with 280k miles that never gave me a problem. Then I bought a brand new (06) Cobalt. Within 3 months the clutch, 2nd gear, and reverse were gone. It started to leak oil from the oil pan gasket, and I needed to replace the front brakes 2 times during those 3 months. My girlfriend at the time had problems with an 05 Impala, but that had a slipping auto trans and developed a terrible engine knock at 30k miles. Different experiences, eh?

I have an old 86' Caprice with the 305 with over 300k on the clock and I'll bet it runs better than your accord with that many miles.. O and it doesn't burn oil like every import 4 cyl does... Also if you loved imports so much why buy a Cobalt? Did you ever even buy one? I've NEVER heard of a Cobalt's transmission dieing, unless of course the owner beat it to death... I liked my hondas, and I sold all of them running. Right now im driving a Jeep. I love my jeep, and I definitely beat the crap out of it, but I use it for what its built for. 180k miles still running strong. I dont have much experience with the new chevys I hope GM improved as much as I have heard. But I know the new hondas are good

I had a Camaro in 1994 that I didnt take particularily good care of and I sold it at 120k miles with only one problem that was due to me putting Prestone in with the Dexcool. Whereas an Acura Legend I had needed a new radiator at under 100k miles and drives like crap at 150k miles despite having all its maintenance done regularily. I'm going to have to dump it for something else it drives so bad.

I like the Cruze and I bought the 1.8LT last month. Not much for the engine performance compared to civic 1.8S but the handling is very good. In my opinion this is a better car compared to the honda civic 1.8S, because of the added features like the traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, automatic dimming rear view mirror, auto sensing wipers and side airbags. By the way I also drive a honda civic 1.8S and nissan sentra b14-sr20ve.
