  • I just had my son on the 9th and your labor and delivery story sounds almost EXACTLY how mine went. I completely empathize with you! I also was planning a natural birth, but sometimes that just isn't what is supposed to happen to get our little ones out and safe in our arms. Love you and your channel!

  • Your baby is exactly 1 year older than mine!!! :)

  • Oh she is sooooo cute. That was a lot to go through. You're my hero! :)

  • your baby has the best name ;)

wow you truly are inspiring and amazing 65 hours?!

    congratulations!

    xxxxx

  • wow! that story really was epic....so glad to see you both doing so well in this video though. so many of those hours with no pain relief - whoa! and from what i'm told, pitocin contractions are so much more intense than the naturally occurring kind. you are a superhero. and it's so great that you have this video to share with your daughter when she gets old enough to ask questions about her birth story. good for you both! take care.

  • wow. your story is soo touching. i cannot even begin to imagine how strong you must be to have to go through all that. i hope im half the woman you were while you were going through those 65 hours, when its my turn.

enjoy motherhood - hannah is beautiful

  • @ValleyOfTheSunGirl The risk of being THAT post date was greater than the risk of induction by pitocin. After 65 hours of labor, anyone would be in bad shape. I don't blame the pitocin.

  • 65 hours!!! carla you star i was given an epidural at 35 weeks and was in labour for 16 hours ans throughout that i remain 3 centimeteres i couldnt hack it anymore kudos chick she is goooooooorrrrrrrrgggggggeeeeeeeooooooouuuuuusssssss

  • Hey Carla! Congrats, Hannah is adorable, soooo sweet!!!! When you said 65 hours I had to stop the video because I thought: OMG How many days is that????You are such a strong woman. Congratulations family of three!!!

  • I loved it when they were all skirmy like that! they just cuddle up under you neck! and smelling their milky mouths! just the best! congrats!

  • WOW - 65 hours! You are a wonder woman! I am so happy for you and Chris & little Hannah! Congrats to all of you!

  • Wow...65 hours...You beat my 40 hour labor by a whole day!! Hannah was well worth it..She is beautiful!!..Congratulations again!!

  • Is she wearing her cloth diapers yet? Im so glad you did the cloth diaper videos, it has made me think more about using cloth diapers when ever we have a baby!

  • Hi Carla, I am new here, but I have followed your ttc journey. You are really a hero.........Btw,congratulations and Hannah is so cute.

  • Oh my gosh, that is a CRAZY labour and delivery story. You are an inspiration, great work. You poor thing, I bet the hardest part of the whole thing was that you didn't get to see you baby after you had her :( She is adorable and you and Chris are blessed to have such a gorgeous little girl.

  • you are the woman! :) after 21 hours, I was screaming for an epidural!!

  • through this whole story my body was aching remembering my 3 labors =/ congratulations shes gorgeous.

  • I love your story Carla! You are so strong and Hannah is so sweet. You are amazing and thank you for sharing your story with us. Congratulations to you and Chris!

  • Wow, you are both amazing for how well you did, despite all the setbacks. You are awesome and so strong. I think it is wonderful that your midwives and other medical providers gave you as long as they did, I feel like some of the OBs I know would've pushed for a c-section far earlier. You have a beautiful daughter and I'm so happy for you!

  • WOW! Carla you are a VERY strong woman. I admire you! Hannah is BEAUTIFUL and she can be proud to have a mother like you fighting for her natural birth until the end....

  • I am glad she is finally here & both of you are doing fine.

  • You're a trooper!!!! I can't believe how long it was...but now she's healthy and here :) Congratulations again!!!

  • SHE'S ADORABLE!!!!! And you move her every 2 minutes.. haha

  • yep, epic pretty much sums it up! you're such a trooper! and i'm so glad that everything turned out alright in the end. she's so precious. congrats to you again! :)

  • You are so strong! I seriously have sooo much admiration for you! And Hannah is just beautiful x

  • Your birth story makes me a bit nervous for my own L&D (I have to be induced due to being high risk for blood clots) but at the same time, it makes me so hopeful that I too can be super brave like you!! :D You are a trooper momma and Hannah is gorgeous.

  • you have your baby!!!! I've been watching you since you were "trying".....and then you got pregnant, and now here she is! precious! Congrats....ours is now almost 8.5 months, wowzers time flies, and its sooo amazing!

  • Carla you sure went through alot of this beautiful baby girl! I hope she knows how much you and Chris love her! I'm sure she was worth every tear, pain, and worry!

  • I've never heard of the catheter bulb, nor the infusion into the amniotic sac ... and, WOW, 65 hours! Well, I'm glad they do more now to inhibit unnecessary C-Sections, but sad that you went through all of that anyway ... Hannah is so pretty though, and like you said, she was worth all of it!

    Regards, ♀♥

  • :( sorry it was so unpleasant. At least you're both OK.

  • i was in labor for 10 day water broke for 10 days and contraction every 1 min to 2 mins and dilated to 8 cm but the drs were trying to keep my daughter in because i was only 28 weeks preg but at 10 day i had infec and i was 10cm and crowning and she came at 29 weeks and few day 3 pds 15 inch

  • she is so cute congrats

  • Congrats again. Hannah is beautiful!

  • So happy you finally have your baby girl in your arms!! :D She is such a beauty! :D You look great! What a crazy L&D story!

  • crazy story!! i was 37 weeks with horrible preeclampsia and was induced but started off just like you with not much progress.. mine turned out to be a vaginal natural labor after 48 hours so I was lucky.. they were talking c-section when i was stuck at 8 but then bam i finally dilated.. I am wondering, why did they wait til you were 42 weeks before inducing you when she was over 9lbs and all set to come out?

  • @MaRiSa22Bunny omg i did the fullybulb!! and OMGGGG it hurt soo bad and it was such a weird feeling!!

  • @MaRiSa22Bunny omg as i am watching your story our stories are sooooooo similar... julianna started not doing well with dips in her heart too.. turns out her cord was double wrapped and her shoulder got stuck on the way out.. after 48 hours on pitocin and having it jacked up through the roof it takes a toll on you.. i also got a fever and so did julianna.. but thank god it went away shortly after

  • congrats on baby Hannah. The shaking is normal during a csection which kind of sucks because it completely ruined both of my experiences with birth :- /. I am gald you are feeling better and Hannah is looking so precious.

  • Yup, I would say "epic" is a good description of this labor and delivery story. I wonder if the nurses and midwives are still talking about you :) I'm so glad that you are both healthy now! You both look great!

  • I think your labor and delivery story was beautiful. Hannah is such a blessed girl to have a wonderful loving momma like you Carla. Oh and I love her little hiccups. Precious!

  • I was remembering my l&d with my daughter and it was almost the exact same except they only let me labor for 15 hrs and then after she did not want to bf so that was very dissappointing but I should try and make some notes about my son and daughters and do their videos!

  • Thank you for sharing this Carla :D Crazy story but like you said she is worth everyy minute!

  • I end up having a emergency c-section after I push for about 2 hrs and he was suck come to find out that I i can't delivery vaginal. I end up having two Epidural and two shots of morphine by the time I had my c-section I kept pass out on the table and I didn't get to see my son like 2 hrs after. My husband had to leave right after to run back to his ship he was in the navy at the time so he had to sign some paper work to get the time off and they did tell him they moved me.

  • What a story !!! That is just crazy .. It boogles my mind !!!! Your a trooper and I am so glad that Hannah is here and healthy and that your doing okay !!!! She is so gorgeous!!!!

    xoxo Loves xoxoxox

  • Epic!

  • You poor girl. I can imagine how much you wanted a vaginal delivery. I am suprised they let you go that long without a c-section. At least you know you tried everything, and you have a healthy beautiful baby girl.

  • I'm so sorry that you had such a horrible labor and delivery. But I am so glad that you and Hannah are okay, and I am impressed she can already hold her head up so well. Strong girl; she's a keeper!

  • You are amazing!

  • Wow! What a story!!

  • Pretty girls :)

  • wow you sure had an experience to remember!, i admire you for sticking it out till they said you had to have a csection, at least now you are both together and both are happy and healthy do you think you will have anymore children? motherhood really suits you x

  • Hi Carla, i was wondering if you kind of regretted being as insistant on a natural birth?

You ended up having a c-sec anyway but after enduring a horrendously long labour attempt which could have been avoided if you had accepted your circumstances.

I'm not critising as I also feel that i would be very insistant on not having a c-sec, but i wondered if you felt with hindsight that you would have done it differently and are now more aware of where you should have drawn the line? xx

  • @LouiseAndBaba she answered this at the end of the video...

  • You know Carla, I think you just taught me a life lesson. Seeing you before baby and all, I know that you are an organized person, you are a planner, and you do your research. After hearing about your story this just makes me remember that no matter how much we plan and hope and prepare, we can't pick how our births are going to go. You gave natural labor all you had. Kudos! I hope I can be as strong as you some day :) Thank you for sharing all of this with us!

  • Wow that's a great story! After my daughter was born she had a high level of jaundice and had to stay in the hospital for a whole week. It was hard and sad but in the end it totally worth it isn't it. :) Hannah is beautiful.

  • Wow, it's sounds like when when a good few rounds in the boxing ring!! I feel for you babe but just seeing you hold your precious Hannah makes it all worth it!! Bless you both!! So proud of you, your story has given me and my husband strength and encouragement to hold our very own babies in the near future, xxx

  • wow what a story, congrats to you both she is such a cutie, hope ur doing well

  • Poor you sweetie sound's like you went through a herifict time.

I am so glad that Hannah and you are doing so well and she is so gorgeous. =)

Congrate's and well done you are a real trouper. x

  • I know where you're coming from. I labored for 15 hours, definitely not as long as you, only to result in an emergency c-section. I was completely surprised and completely devastated. A c-section didn't even cross my mind when I was pregnant. I remember shaking on the operating table when I had my c-section. It was truly awful. Even after the surgery, I shook for a good hour, and it made my shoulders and neck really sore. It's the drugs they put you on.

  • @ArmindaHeart It was the same for me with the shaking too. It is a horribly uncomfortable tense feeling in the upper half of your body.

  • omg carla, hannah is so cute! i was dying just watching her snuggle into your chest. I can't believe your a momma! yay :)

  • you did great how are you feeling now from the c-section ?

  • This is why I love your vlogs carla you are honest and practical.x

  • @theskye09 she has tons of videos on this. just go to her youtube page : )

  • She is perfect and just like you said, she's worth every minute of it!! Congrats to you guys.

  • Was wondering if you could let us know what you did and didn't use in your hospital bag. You were so prepared and thought it would be helpful for those of us who are getting ready to deliver. :) Thank you for taking us on your journey.

  • I was just thinking that this kinda of bookends your struggle with becoming pregnant to having your little one very symbolically. What a journey you've had to come through to finally have little Hannah in your arms. I think no one can truly appreciate having a baby as much as you and Chris. Congrats

  • WOW!!! You are one amazingly strong woman!!!! I got teary watching you hold her, I've been following your journey since you were ttcing and just to see precious lil Hannah in your arms gives me so much hope!!! We are on IUI cycle#3 so I hope this cycle is as lucky for me as it was for you Ü
