I've been listening to polynesian music since I was in my mother's womb. But it's only been fairly recently that I discovered Cook Island(s) music. It has become my favorite, and I even got my mom into it. The percussion is different from all the other Polynesian music I've heard. We now look forward to the Te Maeva Nui more than the Merrie Monarch Festival.
vahine mihi aku please don't let such meanless words prevent to show the beauty of the cool islanders and their island paradise... FTW! the peopel are beautiful along with their culture... to hell with the meanless words

OMG I was there in August 2007 this place is amazing for island nights!
I stayed at Tom's Guest House, which is such a perfect place to stay too! Right on the beach, absolute bliss, and a rugby field next to it where some games are played. Man i miss that place.
Tom's was only £8 a night at the time, but its so honest and the family are great!

Kia orana, we visited beautiful aitutaki, we went to the pacific resort for the island nite in april 2007, we loved it....Aitutaki is truly paradise....i love this cook island group......
This style of singing is almost uniquely Polynesian; It's noted for its HARMONY...
Maori Aotearoa and Kuki 'Airani, Tahitians, Tongans, Samoans, Fijians, Ni'ihau Hawaiians, and other Polynesians sing similarly. Aue ra ho'i, te himenera'a a ratou, UA MALIE, MALIE!!
