best advice coming from a barber. show him a picture of how you want it to be done, Also now tell the barber how you want it step by step, pause and ask him if he understands it or not just try to explain as best as you can. sometimes we can C a different picture in are heads and just give you what we think goes with you. we do this because we are barbers so we give you the look that we think goes with your face structure. p.s the hair cut looked good it was just not your style"according to you"

damn im a barber from usa.. find a better barber... as a rule, you remove less hair at first then show the client/patron.. A real barber is going to approach all trimming and cutting after knowing what you want.. I have yet to have a client leave my chair unhappy... now adays about 85 percent of barbers are screw ups, and probably all but a few percent got drug issues

I've got the same problem... I tell my barber I want my side burns he cuts one off. He is never constant with my lines at all; sometimes it's great other times it looks like I didn't even get a line at all. And the one thing I absolutely hate most is when barbers start talking on the cell phones while they cut your hair. I hate that s***. What i've noticed about clients is that they dont tell the entire truth when they complain... I have messed people up but do you know why? Because they wont sit still. You can tell that one side is thicker than the other side and the area at the chin is where it starts to get uneven which is why the other side is thicker. He did mess you up. If it were cut straight it would have looked nice. The mustache isn't bad, would have looked better is it were a little bit wider and thicker.

No, I'm just the same, I go to the salon and take the styling comb off them to do what I know fit's me best... I am paying after all. But best way to get YOUR specific trim and shape... Stick to one barber and teach him what you like. However, it aint THAT bad, you'll survive 2-3 weeks ;o)
