@ExtremeBogom We don't have a muslim problem YET in the U.S. It is a bigger issue in the U.K, Denmark, Holland (Amsterdam), and Germany. The good thing about our freedom-loving, ignorant mindset in America, is that it is a very effective tool in fighting Islam and other bigotry/totalitarianism that would change our culture and our constitution. For once, I am happy that many of my fellow Americans dont look outside of the border.

Europe has become maybe "too" liberal since around the 80's.

I think you are forgetting tens of thousands of years of intertribal warfare between pre-civilized humans. The human life was dictated by fear and terror of other humans long before Mohammed created the Islamic faith. Furthermore, the actual stated point of Islam is peace, whether some radicals misinterpret that is incidental. Whatever the case, calling Mohammed the first terrorist is to showcase an extremely misinformed view.

I wouldn't disagree with you on the first point; ideologies are mental murders. Anything that requires you take a non-objective look at reality and posits its own interpretation of events is grossly at odds with human ability to determine logical and rational truth. Most forms of nationalism, like the ones you mention, seek to make the State an object of deification.
Second, messiah complexes are very common as a psychological disorder, you are wrong in asserting Mohammed is alone.

The "Community Center" needs to be just that! The main part of the building needs to include a religious prayer room that will serve "ALL RELIGIONS" it could have a Cross, A Crescent, Star of David, A Buddah, and symbols of any other religion who chooses to worship at the sight. The ceremonies for each religion could be held simutaneously or at different times depending on the room. If the Imam does this the objections will begin to subside i gaurantee it!!

You say that you are building this 'community centre' near ground zero to showcase to the people of America and world that you are not like those extremists and you are good people........OK....... but, now that you know (assuming you didnt know before) that the people of America would actually feel highly offended by any such building near ground zero, and they dont want any mosque near ground zero, why dont you take the plan off as a showcase of goodwill??
