  • are you retarded?! why elevators?!

  • What is on level "A"?

  • I don't know.

  • Comment removed

  • Okay, This is not a 400A, This was Westinghouse Elevator from 1969, Modernized by Schindler in 1992 and Schindler upgraded the chimes and lanterns when Nordstrom moved in, which was in 2005, so there is NO POSSIBILITY this is a 400A. Once Again, this elevator is NOT a 400A

  • It's a modernized Schindler 400A

  • no is was modernized in 1992 installed in 1968 as westinghouse and the indicator speaker/chime was replaced in 2004

  • What is A?

  • I don't know.

  • I think it's Schindler 330A.

  • Sounds like a traction.

  • It's a modernized Schindler 400A

  • schindler 400a deffinately by the tone

  • There's something I don't understand, 2 different noises, like in the beginning of the video there's one noise, and when you entered the elevator I heard the lower one.

  • Is this a Schindler 400A?

  • Yep.

  • How many Schindler 400A's are in Atlanta? There are three 400A's and a bank of 500A's in Columbia, SC.

  • I really don't know exactly how many, but there are a lot.

  • just like NYC.

  • this isn't, since it was installed before 2005

  • nope, it was installed before 2005

  • How was this installed in 1993, and modernized? That's not really that old

  • They replaced the indicator and speaker/bell.

  • The chime sounds a little weird. Also, why does this elevator talk? It's really weird for a shinclder

  • Sounds like the Schindler chime in Hong Kong!

  • the hydraulic high speed elevator?

  • That's a traction elevator - I could hear the cable running.

  • What's on Floor A?

  • Some admin offices and gift-wrapping.

  • What's on Level A?

  • What does A stand for?

  • The sound of the powertrain is, amazingly, loud and clear. Does this car feature a top drive or a bottom one? I've uploaded another Schindler elevator with voice announcements as a video response. The voice-over is a Hong Kong version in English and Cantonese, and yet it's also a 100% Schindler creation.

  • It most likely has a top-drive system. Schindler elevators in America are much different than ones overseas.

  • That's because most of Schindler's elevators in North America were bought out from Westinghouse.

  • Especially this one, which was installed only 4 years after Schindler bought Westinghouse. Currently, some of the high-rise elevators are similar.

  • Heh. I have yet to see a Schindler elevator in US/CAN with characteristic Schindler doors.

v=gbKV2n0MKjc - At 0:12 if you look straight at the doors from inside the cab, you can see the rubber door seal with two silver door edges.

v=-VJ2o7Q_mSY - Looking at the doors on its side (looking at the infrared door edge guard), almost all Schindler elevators look like that on its side (some may have a mechanical buffer instead of the infra red) but the dimensions have been unchanged since the 70's.

  • Can't find a video but if you look down, the door sill of a traditional Schindler elevator is very unique in the sense that the landing door has the grooves, but the cab door doesn't. Fujitec and a few others tried to copy the design over the years.

Phew that was hard to find videos showing what I'm trying to explain..

  • schindler is my 3rd favorite elevator because it's reliable

  • Schindler is good.

  • Did you watch The Peabody Elevator yet?

  • No, where is the video?

  • Floor A means atrium.

  • Floor A means atrium.

  • What is on what floor? And which floor open on which side or sides?

  • What's the speed of this elevator?

  • Roughly 200-250 FPM.

  • meters per second?

  • nope; feet per minute.

  • Wonder why I've never seen a Schindler with voice announcements. But they need to announce direction like with Otis's. And I want to see a talking Dover or ThyssenKrupp.

  • I have a video of a ThyssenKrupp with voice.

  • Does this elevator look like a freight elevator?

  • Not at all.

  • what is that clapping noise in the background?

  • My camcorder. It makes weird noises like that while adjusting.

  • odd...isn't that normal? O_o

  • I was adjusting it.

  • alright, got it.

  • For some reason this store used a Traction elevator when they could have installed a Hydraulic one

  • Isin't that a good thing.

  • I never heard of a talking Schlinder before. Pretty cool though.

  • Fancy People Getting on: Ding "Oh, this is a nice elevator." BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP "Holy Crap! I'm taking the escalator!!!!!!!!"

  • Dude? What's the heck? O_o

  • More like BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It be like "Ooh nice elevator." The elevator arrives. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. At that point they might take the escalator.

  • Schindler (Swiss Brand) elevator is the best.

  • freeky elevator

  • that's nothing compared to their Montgomery elevator.

  • The Chime sounds like a combination from TX/HT series fixtures.

  • I don't know the exact fixture names, but the hall signal is from the early 90's, but the signal inside the elevator itself must be less than a couple of years old.

  • Is it HT series fixture?

  • I don't know.

  • What Schindler Fixtures is this; and what year of the model is it?

  • I think that it was made in 1992. It has since been modernized.

  • Those are vandal-resistant fixtures.

  • From the HT series fixture.
