I can answer the Question with Quantum understanding, and no believer would like the answer, In reality the earth is round to us in reality, but in the real world the world is flat, why and hows that u may ask, becose reality is the unreal in the real world , becose reality is the Game world, and this game is played on a flat screen in the real world, and god is not truly even a god when its only a game. we are all in, beliefs keep ppl in the lie, understanding past the lies, to escape to the..>
dont patronize me, if you are of what i just said, all what i said would make beliefs a lie and has never been a god, i dont like beliefs what so ever,
i have no belief and never will, im the ultimate atheist with a realistic and ideastic view, i think 4 my self, as most people dont do.
First, let me say I admire your style. You're very respectful and dignified.
I agree with your conclusions, but I suspect the confidence level you believe to be justified by the material presented in your videos is a bit too high for me.
I feel the formal translation approach is an unreliable method. Intended meaning is not always conveyed by literal meaning. In French, to convey, "You are correct," one would say, "Tu as raison," which literally means, "You have reason."
The intro is a bit offensive actually. However, Dan, I see scripture stating that God prescribed the diameter of the Earth in those passages, not it's shape. THe purpose of the use of tools is to convey that God had measured the breadth of the Earth. The Bible accurately describves the diameter of the sun and moon to a degree which was unknown untill the 2oth century.
You mean a video explaining how the hebrew scripture clearly talking of lines and circles could very well be just unclear reports of what God actually says? Or something else that is refuting this videos point perhaps? Well if you have, and if you think I won't get bored to death and actually see this point of view of yours as plausible or the truth, feel free to give me the URL to this alleged video.
well, i have to give credit where it is due, you put a lot of thought into this. the point you made about proverbs would defy logic, the people could see that the earth was not a circle drawn on water, but if you keep in mind the bible is written in poetic detail you can see what is being described is not to be taken as god litterally took a pen, or pencil and compass and drew a circle on the depth. it is a poetic way of saying god first formed the round earth out of water.
Cheers displaced. I'm conducting an investigation not a trick or a deception. Next up is the other side of the story.
Think on this displaced ... could the world be a circle drawn on water?
Think about it ... if you look at the horizon all around you it appears to be a giant circle. Also (as we now know) the earth is mostly ocean, so in what ever direction you walk you eventually come to a giant expanse of water...
Anyway thanks for watching. We'll see where the evidence leads us.
in any order cross refernce these verses job 26:7, job 26:10, proverbs 8:27, and provers 8:29, notice the similarities, but the difference is the waters are bound in proverbs and in job the earth is hung over nothing, this is not a contradiction but a compliment, one verse to another. were both solomon and job without logic and common sense? no, but both were very poetic, and spoke dramatically.
Hey Brutus. I'm not sure. I think I have been hit. But I was not paying careful attention. I swear my stars we're higher ... But I can't honestly be sure. However I'm now recording my home page with screen captures. I might be just big enough to absorb 50 1 stars, with only minor damage ... which is what may have hit me. Anyway I'm keeping a careful eye open now.
I love how slowly and detailed you are taking this study, looking at both sides of the argument and not rushing to judgment without taking time to see the other side's view
Can't wait till you actually get to the point of the series! :-) The way I see it, even if the word literally means "circle", the word "circle" can still be used poetically to mean "sphere". So I'll be interested to see how you counter that one, if that's your intention.
Yeah I'm taking my time. I got lots of things in the balance.
Yeah I've shown Khug means circle, but can it also mean sphere? Good question and that's up next! Basically I'll address theist objections like this and then we can move on.
Thanks for your thoughts. Good to hear peoples reactions. Cheers.
It's not just a theist objection. It could be objection by an appreciator of poetry. I am led to believe that humans have known that the earth was sperical for a long, long time. Even looking at the curve of the horizon from the top of a hill might give you the impression that the earth is spherical.
Excellent videos Danmill. As a Hebrew reader I can say you are right on the money. Just to give a little validity to your interpretation of מחוגה (mehhugah), the root is חוג (hhug), meaning circle, with a מ (me) prefix. the מ (me) prefix is often used to identify a tool of the root word. As an example, פתח (petahh) is door and מפתח (miphtahh) is a key. So, מחוג (mehhug) is most likely a tool for making a circle.
Look in the back of my mind I had noticed the "Me" prefix. I had a thought that it might relate to the "Me" in the English word "Mechanical"
I also noted the "Ah" suffix, on this word and others, but I was unable to find an explanation.
Many thanks. I'll sub your channel and begin to watch. I'll also drop by the web site. I have more videos planned, you advice and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Actually Danmill, I have to say I am pretty impressed and it is pretty apparent that you have invested a lot of time into the research of this subject, kudos to you. Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode :-)
What always amuses me in those OT texts is how primitive it all sounds, like some text you would expect to be produced nowadays by some mildly clever semi-literate carpenter in some 3rd world backwater seeing metaphors of the universe in his daily work. It's the metaphor-making mind that's interesting, not the metaphors themselves.
Synesthesia or synaesthesia (still pronounced like the former). It always feels a little snobby to make a comment like this, but you did sorta ask. :)
No Dan, anybody with any English Dictionary could have easily found out what kind of tool a "plane" is. The AV doesn't need Hebrew "helps" ... it simply requires basic reading comprehension in the world language of the end-times: English.
A 'minor' detail you overlooked: those workmen in Isaiah 44 are constructing a 3 dimensional idol ! not a flat surface.
Looks like you " delved deeper" ... but into what?
Stick to the English Bible (AV1611) and maybe you'll eventually find you're way out.
For English, not all English speakers use words the same way [semantics].
Plus, there are an inordinate number of very different "modern" English translations, many English speakers have a hard time understanding the King James version too.
If the Hebrew Bible isn't good enough, what makes the King James Version so special? What about the 1.1+ billion Mandarin speakers?
(2) Now here's the stunning thing ... I put the KJV problems in the episode just for you. You perceive that your belief about the KJV "english perfection" is under attack. You want to defend your belief. You point out that Plane = Plane. You feel better. You feel that is another issue sorted out. You cook some dinner and attend to some odd jobs. BUT As you fire up the oven and attend to the washing, you blindly walk around the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM!
(4) I am stunned... I am stunned... I am stunned... I am stunned... How can you have the balls to defend you belief so falsely? How can you have the confident balls to say plane = plane and expect that it is "problem solved" How can you have the brass plated giant spiky balls to attack my position in such a lame manner? Mack - Plane is and understandable English word ... As I said and you reinforced. But fitteth is not. And you have nothing to say.
No one uses "fit" in that way. No one uses "fitteth". "Fitteth" is not understandable to you, me or "third graders". The "plane" is unclear as it has multiple meanings.(including surface) The "line" is also unclear as it to has different meanings in different contexts. The concept of ochre was missed by KJV.
Mack ... maybe some of this was more correct in 1611. But we don't speak that language anymore.
"Marking with a line"- Does seem clear in isolation, I agree. But the text was just referring to "stretching a line". This word "line" here has two different meanings. Adding the (missing) concept of ochre makes the text meaningful and clear in it's context.
Thanks for your thoughts, they are welcomed and appreciated. But I'm not really interested in debating this issue to the end of time. Feel free to add any further clarifications.
Cheers Riv. Er ... well yes it is all my own research and conclusions.
However as we know stealing from one person is plagiarism, but stealing from lot's of people is research! (:
Lol. I have got a special book I came across in my searchings it addresses a lot of these issues. I'm reading it now and will incorporate some of it's ideas into the series (I'll credit the books when the time comes.)

If the writers thought that the earth was flat, then, why isn't there a single passage that talks about falling off the "edge" of the earth?
Not even one?
stormyandcold 2 years ago 10
Hey dude. Maybe there is?
I have only been investigating the word circle so far. But ...
Job 38:13
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
Psalm 135:7
He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
"the ends of the earth" is the expression you might investigate. I will be in due time.

Also, originally the Hebrew word "dūr" was meant to say: Ball. Sphere came later from Greek/Latin since it's a mathematical (Euclidean) idea.
See: Isaiah 22:18 where the word dūr is meant as ball to roll up:
"He will roll you up tightly like a ball and throw you into a large country. There you will die"

Mack you forgot to address the word "fitteth"
This is what stuns me. Truly does .... (I must swear here) ....
Truly, truly fucks my head over!
You believe the KJV is god perfect word in english.
You believe it is superior to the Hebrew it was translated from.
You even defend that claim by pointing out WHAT I SAID ... that plane = plane.
But you could not see that "fitteth" is not a meaningful english word.
You ignored it.
Danmill23 2 years ago
Danmill23 2 years ago
You're having the "fit" not me.
Shaving the parts for a wooden idol (arms, legs, torso, head) so they all "fitteth" together.
Third-grade English. Not "too hard to understand" ... the problem is not believing what you're reading.
MackQuigley 2 years ago 6
Oh Mack.
No one uses "fit" in that way. No one uses "fitteth". "Fitteth" is not understandable to you, me or "third graders". Mack ... maybe some of this was more correct in 1611. But we don't speak that language anymore.
I'm still stunned at how you can "believe".
Danmill23 2 years ago
"he marketh it out with a line" ... Haven't you ever seen a "mark" before? Do they not have marking pens in Oz?
But you think "ochre" is clearer??? Is "ochre" another one of those peculiar to down under expressions that means "making a mark"?
MackQuigley 2 years ago
"Marking with a line"- Does seem clear in isolation, I agree. But the text was just referring to "stretching a line". This word "line" here has two different meanings. Adding the (missing) concept of ochre makes the text meaningful and clear in it's context.
