I was kind of offended by Paschendale and Tailgunner but well, Germany simply was the wicked evil empire at that time, so it is good they sing about it. And I thinkt, the line "only good indians are tamed" is of course meant from the point of view of an brutal "soldier blue in the barren waste, hunting and killing their game." the first lines are from point of view of the indians. "white men came across the sea, brought us pain and misery".

Well, it shouldnt... it is a sad sad sick part of American history... and I am very glad that they tell it truthfully instead of like much of the textbook crap taught in school.

Maybe if people here learn what really happened, it wont happen again. So as much as the content of the song is sickening and sad, though true, it's value is in the lesson that only the truth of it will teach.

they are sarcastic lyrics, not what they believe, they just tell a story of what happened and what the americans believed about idians

yeah, I know. I just wonder, how an Indian in India first spontaneous reaction could be, when he listens for the first time to this song.

They also have some great songs about World War I & II, like Tailgunner, Longest day, Paschendale, Aces High and so on.

It does not hurt me as a German, but when you listen to it first time you cant avoid to ask yourself how they meant it.

it is the best song on it! bnut bruce is pissing me off his voice in the please tell me know what life iss... part is soo obeautiful on the album but he wont even extend his voice at the end parts of those lines he just goes "life is" and thats it with no vocalizing the last word like in the album i just wanna hear him do it live he sounds soo tired when he does that part liek it doenst matter thats my favorite part of the song

i'm so bummed that we missed the AMOLAD tour in australia. it's one of maiden's finest albums and they rarely play a whole album in one show :(

but hey at least we got to see the SBIT tour, that was amazing.
