  • so smoooooth!

  • "At Fillmore East" was certainly a game-changer album --- along with bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and other Southern rhythm and blues/rock and roll groups --- music has never been the same. The Allman Brothers Band's sound was a perfect fit for the era.

  • possibly one of the greatest "live" albums ever

  • classic piece of music

  • yeah!

  • The best album ever

  • I would trade every pop, hip-hop, rap, grunge, metal, hard rock, new-age "artist" to come out for the past 30 years for one Duane Allman.

  • @YouWatchedMeDying

DITTO my brother the broke the f'n mold and just ain't found another like him.

Derek Trucks comes somewhat close but just close enough that you end up wishing he was Duane.

    Country

  • @YouWatchedMeDying ....just for the reord, rap and hip-hop arent music or art. Its angry crack-head pimps talking trash....

    R.I.P. Duane

  • so Im a day late and a $ short.....

  • One of my top five favorites of all time

  • I love Skynard but Allmans was so much more ... well

  • I was lucky to have seen all the band when they were alive back when concert tics were 5.00 and had three bands

  • @phill531 and weed was ten bucks an OZ.

  • @phill531 at least thats what i heard!

  • These are the guys who took T-Bones' original and made it available for the rest of us to jam on... Thanks for the inspiration!!

  • ....listenin' to this for 40 years now. Believe it or not, Dickey's solo is smoother and more more musical through the chord changes. There, I said it.....

  • @cmaj7th56 Yep, and Cannonball Aderly smokes Coltrane all over " Kind of Blue" , but ones not allowed to speak of it.......

  • Oooooooh what a feelin' The Brothers have... Just can't stop replayin'... Lord have mercy on me...

  • Not a day goes by that I don't listen to Duane play the guitar. Sure do miss him.

  • @mrp356b what would you say are on the top of your list for Duane?

  • those 13 fucks must work work for the goverment!!!

  • @242ls88

Hey, I work for the (and it's government). Have been to at least 10 AAB concerts over the last 30 years. Play my American made Gibson Les Paul everyday. And go to church on Sunday. Go start your shit somewhere else fuck.

  • @ke1mc2 im sorry,didnt mean to piss-off GOD,too!

  • @242ls88

    Good one! That's funny!

  • mmm me encanta!

  • lawd and wednesday worse

  • Lovely

  • How can Gaga get like two million hits and this classic only a quarter of that. someone needs to let those little girls know what will really get their panties wet. one of the greatest songs ever.....

  • @1234ninjadog never mind about the wet panties. This will bring anyone to their kneeeees

  • Magic Musroom Music at its Best!! Duane and Dickey saved my life many a Night!

  • I do think the British ruled the 70's with bands like Yes,King Crimson,Led Zep,Jethro Tull,Pink Floyd,Early Genesis and they also kicked ass on the blues rock scene. The Allman Bro's were not quite as good as the prog rock gods but they where as good as the blues rock Brits.Prog rock took the musicianship to another level and was a British art form with the exception of Rush,Kansas and Happy the Man.

  • they call me stormy monday....

  • This song could go on for 2 hours and I would still be in a state of southern blues roots nirvana! Gregg, Berry, Jaimoe, Butch, Dickie and the impossibly brilliant Duane...my favorite Allman Bros performance of all time. And one of many heartfelt Duane solos that are technically difficult, but even more soulfully astonishing...The Allman Brothers in the flower of their youth and at the peak of their incredible and gifted musicianship.

  • @lateforthesky61 your absolutely right brother.stormy monday is 1 of the greatest songs of all time.another song ya might wanna give a listen to is still got the blues by the late gary moore,i garantee you will approve.take care jim

  • Society moves on, I for one, would trade my cell phone for Duane live.

  • This would make a beautifully backing for guitar.

  • One of my favorite non progressive rock songs of all time.By far the best American rock of the 70's with the posible exception of early Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas.

  • @Big77Jim yeah boc was good for sure,i seen them perform back in 70'.but ya have to admit the allman brothers we're the best of that era.

  • How could this song get 13 dislikes? Take the toilet tissue out of your ears?

  • This may be the most under rated and under appreciated band of all time... Only 24 years old, Duane I wish you were still here my friend, your influence goes beyond any other guitar player. Simply the greatest... Wail on in heaven bother

  • @xXxDriftingCowboyxXx

The Allman Bros are underrated? On what planet?

  • @67goldtops Your damn right they are underrated... You can't buy a drug to make you feel the way these boys can make you feel. Beatles? Rolling Stones?.... pfft ive heard all the top bands ranked by these lame magazines.... ABB was light years ahead of them all

  • @xXxDriftingCowboyxXx

Saying the Allman Brothers are underrated is like saying pussy is underrated.

  • @67goldtops Bahahah Hilarious!

  • now wait a cotton picken minute,

  • can you hear the passion and soul this brother was talking to the whole world music next to God is the elixar sprinkled with a little love that can heal.

  • total classic. Great upload!

  • The Eagle flies on Friday; but lately it hasn;t been too high!

  • I wish Duane would have lived so that at least one guy could stand toe-to-toe with Derek.

  • Brings back such memories...love this...possibly the most heart rending guitar solo I have ever heard, never get tired of this!!

  • 13 got left out in the rain

  • i have no words

  • thats what i say lord have mercy! this is one of my all time favorite bands!! saw them in 1970 in houston texas!!!

  • love gregg allman and the band, one of the greats of our time.

  • Having listened to this for nigh on forty years, it's safe to say I'll never tire of it. Can't think of anything else to say that hasn't been said already.

  • you listen allmann and you have listened everithin

  • I love Duane, really do, but he had nothing on Dickey Betts

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTMAN321 To compare Dickey to Duane is pure insanity. Duane Allman was a rock god. I love Dickey's solo work. I like his sound. They had a splended sound together but Sky dog will always be remembered as pure magic man.

  • When asked, Duane said :

'Im the well known one, Dickey is the good one.'

  • @zanekelly34 Could not agree more. Duanes intensity and feeling was outstanding. No one else are there.

  • It should be illegal to dislike this great great blues song. Duane died at 23. How gifted he was. Rest in peace my brother.

  • Two thumbs up i love this stuff

  • 12 ppl don't know 'nuthin bout good music & the blues!

  • Hey, sorry Eric Clapton Duane has you beat on this song lol

  • had to bury my dog today and on my way to where i buried him this was the song i heard... so this will be mine and my dogs song

  • Beautiful. One of my faves.

  • The best slide guitarist, certainly in southern rock/blues. Some of the best guitar work that you will ever hear.

  • "Lord and IYYY gettdown and praaaaaayyyy."

Lord that note Greg hits hits the spot,

not to mention that SOLO ami right or what wooooo weee

  • wonderful alternate chord sequence, gotta try this with my band!

  • Sounds like my autobiography, hotter than hot. Lord have mercy says it just right...huichol53.....

  • Lord have mercy on us all.....!

  • Saw them when they played all over the south.. BEST southern rock/blues band ever... was at a BBQ where they played just guitars and smoked for hours!!!

    Long live Duane !!

  • 時間がなけりゃ、"ウィッピング・ポスト"、"ユー・ドント・ラヴ・ミー"はさておき、この"ストーミー・マンデー"は必ず聴いた、オールマンズの必殺フィルモア

  • They're all MY brothers (from different mothers)!

  • Nice band btw

  • Are they real brothers or is the band just called the allman brothers?

  • @xMizSweetnessx duane and greg allman were real brothers. this tune is as pure early seventies as you can get.

  • @xMizSweetnessx Not all of them :)

  • merci on me to./..

  • makes luv to my ears

  • Great Stuff. ... Tom Doucett's Harmonica adds some great subtilties to the whole thing too! GREAT WORK!

  • Where there's southern fire there's blues smoke.

    .

  • thanx for posting cheers

  • Just took me back 40 years to when I was in Junior High at 14...blues and rock and soul at it finest...

  • RIP Duane, Les still misses you, making your chili today brother

  • T-Bone

  • omg duane's solo make my ears squirt!

  • maybe the best song ever?

  • I loveeeeeeeeeee blues so much

  • holy fuckin shit ive had this page on by it self since noon n jus replied down there 7 mins ago the view was at430,000 or somethin and now it says 473,739 holy fuck thats FAST

  • One of my favs. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the blues, just a big fan of fantastically talented musicians. Such as here.

  • Lord, have mercy on me!

  • My older brother had this on vinyl when it was new (40 years ago) when I was about 12. I used to move the furniture around in my parent's house, turn it up to 9 (didn't want to blow dad's speakers, right), and watch for incoming family out the window of our house. Later in life I had a friend who, after hearing it on my system, would say "play it." And I would. This is the most influential song (regarding my tastes in music) I've heard. It still gives me the chills.

  • one of my favorite bands ever!!love me some Gregg Allman

    LORD HAVE MERCY...

  • ONE AWESOME VERSION OF THIS T-BONE WALKER SONG ..TIMELESS QUALITY ..STILL GREAT

  • a legendary album in my life

  • it was wall to wall...

  • was there in augusta at the whipping post on broad street worked the door for bruno if you know you know big john

  • they took the blues & made it better with some natural born guitar thumbing that did it for there fans not for the money

  • the best music ever from allman brothers, and I play this!

  • at 2:49 Duane does 7 notes that goes so deep and shows why he was the greatest blues guitarist ever.. keep it simple and soulfull..And too his solo, the first guitarsolo if anyone should be in doubt, is strong, heartbound and calm and exciting in the same time.. technically superior, and no need to show fastness or anything else indifferent

  • just listened to the lee michaels version and......nah! its the whole band, man, that makes them great. in the background, listen to the way the keyboard compliments the solo out front. no one does this better than the ALLMAN BROTHERS. there, i said it. yup

  • this is the ultimate stormy monday blues!

  • love that organ part right before 6:00...

  • I liked Duane's quote when he was asked what he was doing about the revolution, and he said: " There ain't no revolution, it's evolution, but every time I'm in Georgia, I eat a peach for peace " This quote led The Allman Brothers dedicating the album " Eat a Peach " to his honor. He was not killed on his motorcycle hitting a peach truck, but a lumber truck.

  • Comment removed

  • this is so badass! I love this song!

  • Was this Dickie or Duane on guitar?

  • @axty56 Both.

  • Comment removed

  • the guitarist in my first band said "do you know stormy monday?" I said "no", he looked at me funny, now I know why

  • Typo...sorry. I LOVE THE ALLMAN BROTHERS AND ALWAYS WILL. :-)

  • I love the Allman Brothers and all will evey since I became a fan in the 70's. This is probably my favorite song by them. But Sweet Melissa and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed are right there close behind. An awesome band that will never leave my heart.

  • @GooglesCrew101 ...goldtop? not a tobacco finish?

  • well considering Duane and Dicky laid this down in 1971 and the rest got to hear their (in my oppinion best ever) version to learn from LOL you can't really even compare them, that old 1953 goldtop les paul sounded awesume in Duanes hands

  • Would you mind explaining the entire body of work? See where most of the influence comes from, also I think I did mention that "there is so much diversity to each artist and/or band."

  • @mdrenega would you mind explaining "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," "Little Martha," or "Mountain Jam", then?

  • 3:35 and on..That tone....one of the best.

  • i thought the Lee Micheal version was irritating

  • every blues band on earth plays this. come on folks . Get real It is a good version by a very good rock group.

  • @purplecloud191702 The Allman Brothers are a BLUES BAND at the core and foundation. I hate ignorant people always labeling older artists into the "classic rock" genre when there is so much diversity to each artist and/or band, but you keep labeling them as the media tells you to do so

  • @mdrenega the best part of classic rock is it was born from the blues baby!!

  • sublime!!!!

  • now this is music...

everyone please check out my cover of Little martha!

Lets keep this music alive! not that justin bieber crap!

  • I heard it for the first time in 1973 at my friend home. During these years this remains

the best version i ever heard.

The whole album is a masterpiece.

  • I walt to sound nice one day...This helps!..Joseph

  • Cleartwater here, at 2:53 in the song he plays a 3 second rift. At 3:40 Duane starts playing his sweet guitar you can here all the clear notes distinctly. It is almost talking to you. If you listen close to where he stretches the notes it sounds like it is talking whinning dog sound. Only the Skyman could make a guitar sound like that. Dickey Betts does a good job on the simple parts but Duane take the lead and reaches for the sky.

  • A great Blues Classic!

  • I agree, Lee Michaels and Frosty played the hell out of this song. Like no other!

  • Unforgettable!!!!!

  • i was a teenager in the 70s but have only got into ABB fairly recently...boy did i miss out!

  • Lee Michaels couldn't touch the Allman Brothers with a 60 foot pole and that's the truth!!

  • Long John Baldry did a fine version with a Jazz guitarist providing a great accompaniment.

  • RIP Duane...you are still sorely missed.

  • Check out the original by T-Bone Walker, or B.B. King

  • My fav blues song. OOOOOooooozing soul! "Lord have mercy...Lord have mercy on me!"

  • my first concert was 1970, zz top introed, Allman bros wer next and Quicksilver featured, with fresh air, all i can remeber is leaving and saying, oh my god, who in the hell were the Allman bros, with greg on slide mind you. Amazing.

  • blues: adjective: i.e.- H. Duane Allman adverb: i.e.- Gregory L. Allman

  • Oh how I love this song--have it on my ipod -well the whole album

I don't think they ever recorded any music I didn't love--I crank i up when this comes on

Dickie was in the 100 greatest guitarists in RS mag so that's a great tip of the hat

  • They have a totally different sound when Duane was in the band.

  • y does this have so few views this is awesome!

  • @TheOldcountryboy Because about 2 years ago, they took it down for copyright infringement. But last year they put it back up. :)

  • @TheOldcountryboy That's because we all have the record !

  • L U V Th!S <3 ThanQ

  • I Think between Lee Micheals and ABB on this tune would be a coin toss !

  • It takes me back bro, eat a peach Thanks

  • Why isn't there great music like this anymore? I swear it sux. I'm 15...and I was born 30 years too late!!

  • This one is smooth, with a kick, like Kentucky bourbon

  • @jimi2142 What an excellent way to say that jimi2142! :)

Not enough "O"s in smoooth to describe this version. Lee Michaels was the champ, of course, but there is everything right about this version!

Skydog certainly deserves big kudos for his work here.

  • I saw them do this in 71' at the old RFK Stadium in DC. That show rocked with 70,000 peeps!

  • @chef4cook Hey! Was that you, "hanging" down at Dupont Circle? You would have found me, on M St. selling flowers to the tourists! Little "hippie" that I was. And those memories would not be complete without "The Allman Bros."
