  • Researching this 4 school

  • From 0:15 to 1:18.. I see it every day...

  • An awesome bit of architectural design (and anxious to see Heatherwick's Olympic cauldron for the London 2012 games!) And yet... for the first 60seconds of this video... all I can see is a slowly erecting phallus!

  • its a lot slower than i imagined, but beautiful nonetheless.

  • Thanks for the upload. I lived in London for ten years, spend a couple of weeks there at least every year - if not more - and did not know of the existence of this bridge although I can place where it is from logic!

    Best wishes from Poland!

  • I can't help but wonder... What if someone stayed on the bridge as it curled up and ended up inside the ball? O.o

  • cool

  • Just heard about this on Yahoo! Crazzzy!

  • bridge boner

  • hehe its a roly-poly!!!!!!!

  • A little slow but neat.

  • There are so many bridges that are a piece of art, but this could be a piece of art with a useful purpose.

  • I dont get it... now they cant walk across

  • looks like a dick

  • it would be really fun to lay down, grab one edge, and then roll onto the other side hahah.

  • It's like a really slow rolly polely bug.

  • How can u get more dodgy. lol

  • Needs to be a lot quicker if it's going to catch anybody

  • its nice but does it actually have some purpose? it seems to me that all it does differently than any normal bridge is let you wait 2 minutes till it unrolls....

  • slow and energy inefficient

  • @dralol So righteous. Are you having fun yet?

  • most genious bridge in the world, really futuristic!!

  • Does it make that piano noise too, or was that added on to augment the affect?

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • @MoilAndToil He added it i'm afraid.

  • That's the coolest bridge ever!

0:42 - totally making an erection joke.

  • who pays it???

  • unuseless bridge

  • amazing!

  • Thomas Heatherwick is an amazing man to have come up with the desgins he does, he's my idol!

This is one of my favourite pieces that he's made including the B of the Bang in Manchester that is simply amazing.

This man is a pure genius!

  • does it ever unroll?

  • :-O

    IT'S ALIVE!!!

  • bby

    im lonely nS

  • Love the bridge and fixed camera (so tempting to zoom in). Well done sir.

  • Too small, too slow.

  • it takes to fu c k i n g long

  • health and safety probably wouldn't allow anything faster, unless it was painted yellow, with flashing lights and a siren

  • Patience is a virtue :P

  • What song was used in the video? It was really cool. The out-of-sync pianos were made an awesome effect.

  • Hi, The group is called Calexico and the tune is ' The Book and the Canal.....'

  • Reminds me quite a bit of some of Philip Glass' works, which is a good thing in my book.

  • wow, I really need to see this, had no idea this was in London.

  • I like it, but what's the point? Art?

  • what's the point of anyhting , coastercloud.

  • I think I see what you mean. The point is intriguing fun!!

  • Egg-sactly.

  • @katievicieuse Quite! What is the point of living?

  • there is not anything about paddington?

  • Hi, The video is just of the bridge...... Paddington is where it is located. Regards Patrick.

  • hmmm and needs 3 people to operate...

the bridge to no where:) you can walk around it in 10metres.....

  • When is a bridge not a bridge? When it's an octogon.

  • LOL

  • Great Bridge And Great video

  • I love the way you timed the music perfectly to match the end of the 'curl'. Lovely video.

  • Does the bridge really do that?
