An awesome bit of architectural design (and anxious to see Heatherwick's Olympic cauldron for the London 2012 games!) And yet... for the first 60seconds of this video... all I can see is a slowly erecting phallus!
Thanks for the upload. I lived in London for ten years, spend a couple of weeks there at least every year - if not more - and did not know of the existence of this bridge although I can place where it is from logic!
its nice but does it actually have some purpose? it seems to me that all it does differently than any normal bridge is let you wait 2 minutes till it unrolls....
That/this is amazing--thanks for sharing it! and it is #97 most viewed today in "Travel&Places" Thanks--I am a friend of Louise from Bloomington--met you when you visited. (Aaron)
Wowie Zowie. That's really neat Dada, especially when you wip the slide along. A feat of engineering. Lovely sound too. Thanks for this. Keep them coming! Love you.....

I can't help but wonder... What if someone stayed on the bridge as it curled up and ended up inside the ball? O.o

There are so many bridges that are a piece of art, but this could be a piece of art with a useful purpose.

Thomas Heatherwick is an amazing man to have come up with the desgins he does, he's my idol!
This is one of my favourite pieces that he's made including the B of the Bang in Manchester that is simply amazing.
This man is a pure genius!

health and safety probably wouldn't allow anything faster, unless it was painted yellow, with flashing lights and a siren

What song was used in the video? It was really cool. The out-of-sync pianos were made an awesome effect.
