I agree we are obsessed with superficial beauty. The beauty we disregard, which increases as a person ages, are kindness, compassion, and an appreciation of nature, music and art. Some people, as they age, reach out to help others, especially young people going through the rough time of adolescense of struggling to find one's identity. People who have this kind of beauty are blessed, for this is a beauty of the spirit which endures.
@notmemate In a society that glorifies youth & disparages elders, it is unfair. We have become such a superficial culture. I look at my own aging female skin & grieve at the loss of youth's beauty. I'd like to look at older folk and try and see the stories written in their skin...we forget they have lessons to teach us and are arrogant enough to disregard their place in society believing we are the new generation and thus know the new ways. Yes, it's unfair what times does to beautiful people.
i remember buying this album not knowing really what i was buying. I ended up playing so many times, unbelievable, great. Thank you for posting here. Great music.
Slightly off the subject but does anyone else listen to this song and think it really should have been named, 'The full of himself Knight who thought he could have his cake and eat it too so messed two sisters about causing one of them to snap?' seems much fairer than 'The Cruel Sister' since he courted them both even though he knew he only had true feelings for one.

Evokes many happy memories and images of the late 60s-early 70s, when it was a fab. time to be young!

What an absolutely brilliant ballad! Featuring Jacqui McShee, one of the best female vocalists of all time.
