@KingPiccolo001 Lol really? Well just think Fed blew 2 Slam Semis against Djoko (2010 USO & 2011 USO where he had match 2 MPs in both matches) and beat him convincingly at the French this year against Djoko at his best, and you want to see Federer at his best and younger??? Pretty sure Fed would down him in straights, guarantee 1 bagel set.
@rachray83 It'd be one of those questions of 2 players playing at their best, Fed back then was downing opponents who were having the tournaments of their life, and it'd be more interesting to not see how Fed beats Djokovic but more the response Djokovic gives, it'd be a match based on winners rather than throw in a few unforced errors, though I would love to see Fed US Open 07 or 08 against Modern Djokovic, back then he had over 100 points with no Unforced Errors, so anyway.
@sarju04 Eh, I think most people thought he was the favorite going into Australia this year. He won all those matches and tournaments at the end of 2010, and won Doha beating some quality players quite easily. Djokovic didn't seem like he was going to improve mentally aside from his US Open 2010 run which honestly seemed to feel like a fluke considering the results for the rest of the year and Nadal was completely questionable after winning the US Open but I think Federer just ran out of gas.
Djokovic respects federer a lot i think. The fact that he smiles when federer hits an amazing backhand on the line proves that. I think it's the best reaction u can give :)
A RIGHT-HANDED PLAYER WITH A SOLID BACKHAND CAN FRONT NADAL'S FOREHAND, AND DO MANY WIN POINTS TO PLAY DIAGONAL IF NADAL LET HIS SIDE FOREHAND WIDE OPEN.....BUT NADAL CAN'T DO THE SAME, BECAUSE HE'S GOT A POOR BACKHAND, HE PLAY 80/100 HIS BACKHAND DIGONAL TO RETURN, BECAUSE IS MOST EASY AND HE CAN PLAY STRONG, NADAL KNOW IT, AND HE REALY GO ON HIS BACKHAND TO PROTECT. BUT PLAYERS LIKE DAVYDENKO PLAY UNPREDICTABLE ON HIS BOTH SIDES, SO NADAL CAN'T EMPLOI HIS TACTICAL AND LOSE...................
Notice even from the first point Federer is playing way smarter tennis than he has been in a while. Let Djokovic hit a great forehand and backhand together, but waited till that overconfidence let him get out of position and then just hit a nice crosscourt forehand. Few months ago he would have tried to create his own super backhand-forehand combination and would have gotten owned.
I wanna see Fed and Nadal playing at the Univeristy of Toronto indoor court. The court is twice faster than a normal hard court sd even my grandmother can hit as many winners as she wants on that court. Federe would probably win by 6-0 6-0.
I mean of "number 3 ranked" that he's a professional and the professional player didn't make 3 times double fault and rarely we see djokovic with 3 double faults , but you are right djokovic was nervous yesterday this is the reason he make 3 double faults !!
@MrRF77 Djokovic rare with double faults? That's probably the first time I've heard this. He's pretty well known to be clutch on his second serve so he takes very high risks. Out of the top 10 he probably serves the most double faults.
@foul01 Mcenroe said it during the US Open, I dunno whether or not he checked his facts or not. Maybe that's what the stats were at that particular time.
Only Federer can win this and play good in best of 3 tournament when everyones tired.
Best of 5 slams against the best and he chokes in more ways than one.

What makes the number of Djokovic's doubles so bad is that many of them come at important times in a match, like break points.

3 double faults is nothing... djokovic had matches this year where he hit 15 or even more...
djokovic wasnt nervous at all, hes was a bit frustrated cause federer played so well, but thats it
by the way, andy murray served yesterday 6 double faults, but for more than 3 hours thats ok

i beg to disagree, most double faults in top ten is hands down Verdasco
he has so much its disgusting at times
but i agree with you in that Djokovic aint one of the most consistent second servers
foul01 1 year ago
@foul01 I didn't realise Verdasco is back in the top 10. For sure, he wins. But yes like you say Djokovic isn't the most consistent second servers

Djokovic doesn't have a consistent second serve

@foul01 Nope. Djok was the only guy in the top 10 this year to have more double faults than aces.
DanimalLawlz 1 year ago
@DanimalLawlz
where did you get that data from?
dont just give me gut feelibng assumptions and assume they're legitimate
djokovic made 304 aces and 282 double faults
verdasco made 348 aces and 305 doubles faults (more than anyone in the top 10)
this is offcial data from the atp website
no one made more doubles than aces
