Wiseman is such an awesome villain. He ruined so many lives and murdered countless people, even children. His actions made it so enjoyable to finally take him and down.

you had to go back to the past and defeat wiseman if you don't you will be missing guliio's ultimate foruth attack move apheloin dustwake and the true final boss fight

well i never got guilo's lvl 4 skill but i did just fine with his black yang. for milly, i had lightning turky and for sagi i had aoitheosis so i was having some diffucutly with the machnia's repetive task of reviving. the ending varries when u dont fight wiseman, the afterlings dissapear

They're just 5 brothers [sagi's spirit is really one of them] who want to stop Wiseman from eating people's hearts and they called themselves Malpercio [a hill, just outside Naos where they grew up in], they didn't stop him, though. The people of the earth killed them thinking they were the ones that killed the other villages, which it's totally false seeing as Wiseman was responsible for this.

But did I miss a plot-point in the game--cus I cannot recall if they ever say what Wiseman is (Light Brethen?) and what his motives are. Anyone know or willing to wager an educated guess?
I don't believe that the game ever actually states exactly what he is. I've finished the game(saved for the last boss, he he, and some non important side quests. Unfortunately, i can't beat the verus-machina battles, such a shame, my chars are all at least lvl. 62 and i'm quite exceptional at fighting.) ah well, maybe they'll make another game that kinda ties in what this one left off.
Level 62 should be more than sufficient to succeed in the final boss battles--with proper deck management and usage of ex-combos. Honestly, Guillo's Frigid Ice Queen Festival is one of the best combos to use for Verus--scratch Sagi's Apotheosis even if Verus is weak against Holy. A good alternative is to have a Milly-deck that is heavy on her ultimate combo with Guillo using Thunderdrake's Clap as a strong backup. Again, with the right magnus it can still be done.

I have nothing against the first but this one takes the prize. It had so many twists and drama (in a good way) and the characters were unique.
