  • That looks like fun, fun time it is, NICE!!!

  • I hate it when videos have stupid music like this one has. Why not just let people hear the sounds of the trains? The damn music ruined this video!

  • Wish i could hear those trains. Had to turn the sound off because of that *^$@!# * music

  • Awesome video!

  • how much does all this cost??

  • @SamF193143

    Hi Sam,

I have answered this before, but some seem to disagree. Do you have metal working tools and skills? You can build a freight car for little more than the cost of steel and some truck castings. If you have 100s of thousands to blow on a toy, It is a pretty sure bet you could find someone willing to take your money. A lot of this hobby is achievable with sweat equity and good friendships.

  • Those locomotives were real work horses.

  • @MrLeonard55

Yes, the real ones and the 1/8 scale ones too. They are tough and will pull A LOT !!!

  • that look like so fun i want one

  • @fordsuckbigtime

Yeah, it is pretty fun. Traveling the country and visiting other ppl's tracks is the best part.

  • So what do those locomotives run on? Gas? Electric? Diesel? That would be neat if you had like a 26 horsepower kubota diesel in it. And could you give me a ballpark cost on the INRD 31?

  • @CowsXonXcrack

This one is gasoline/hydraulic. There are a few around the USA that are diesel powered with a small Kubota engine. These engines come ready to run for around $10-$12k. If you have the right tools, it costs much less than that.

  • @kirkifer Bullshit! 12 grand? Jeesus, I guess that is half affordable. I know a guy who owns a G-Scale locomotive shop, and he just bought a set of 7 inch tracks, 3 cars and a locomotive. He said the set cost him 70k, 25 thousand for everything else, and 45 thousand for the locomotive. It was just electric, but maybe it was because it was a model of a 2-6-0 steamer? It wasn't even that big compared to the bigger ones you can get too...

  • where do you get your rail???

  • @scooby19784

Go to newrr [dot] com and ask Pete. He owns the track.

  • Where is the F.R.E.D. or Red Flag on the end?

  • Yeah, nice catch...

One of the guys in the group actually has a scale prototype FRED he wants to start selling. It is unbelievably realistic. I am still waiting for mine, so not sure when they will go into production.

  • @stevekatkus

Ooops! I did not know the FRA was on the property.

  • @kirkifer omg whats the song in the begginning!!!!!

    i love it!

  • watching it makes very me verry happy its a very nice train

  • @angeltronics77

    Glad you enjoyed it !!!

  • This is every 46 yr old kids dream. I want one for my back yard.

  • Well, it's a lot of work, but it is pretty fun. There are some real dynamics involved in this scale that smaller scales just do not have. There is nothing like setting 10 pounds of air on the brakes and feeling the cars tugging. On the other hand, the engineer can release the brakes and feel the slack run in.... VERY COOL !!!!

  • is that scratch built or did you buy it if you did buy it where did you get it and how much did it cost please tell me

  • @tara2578

search for Rail Systems Co. or go to Discover Live Steam and you can figure it out from there.

  • you guies are so lucky to have a train like that I want one so bad I never be board ever

  • rofl, looks fun haha..nice vid

  • what the song called its great

  • It is called "the freight train boogie".

  • (BRAZIL)Muito bom (VERY GOOD). Também tenho alguns filmes (MOVIE) de trens no Youtube. É só digitar (CLIC) "FARINA e TREM". Obrigado.

  • Thank you!

  • the engines weigh as little a 300 pounds for a small switcher and close to 1500 pounds for a large steamer. The engines in the video are probably in the 600 - 700 pound range.

  • about how much do one of those engines weigh?

  • hey this ain't far from my mother's home town of morgantown...she is mcclain, my father was from bean blossom...he is arnold...cool train set, too...

  • Wow!

Homebuilt or bought off the shelf engines?

  • The ones in the video happen to be "off the shelf."

They are built by a company in Oregon named, Rail Systems

  • Thank you.

  • very nice

  • I want!

  • hahaha

  • thank you.
