Brydon's right. His 00:42 higher Pacino voice is from the Godfather I. 00:40 Pacino's Sonny Black in Donnie Pacino. 01:03 Coogan's is Pacino in 'Carlito's Way'
lol Rob is right though. Al in the old days sounded like he was on helium compared to how he is now. Like his balls didn't drop untill the 80s or something
Brydon is the king of improvised comedy, about half way through this scene even Coogan seems to step down and just let him run with it. Coogan even admits on the commentary that when it comes to improv, Brydon wipes the floor with everyone.
if only there was more of this kind of work from these two...solid, ceaseless, earnest riffing. this is the rippling double quarter pound cheese burger of comedy minus the regular portion of fleeting sense of appetite satiated. this comedy satiates, yes, but in a good way, a good way. its a belter, a belch of a belter. the savage shame is how rare a chance we get to see it. snippets, at best. tragic.

Is somebody ever going to tell Rob Brydon that his Al Pacino impression doesn't really sound like Pacino?
I personally don't find Brydon funny at all, his Welsh accent is irritating and he's nowhere near as good an impressionist as he thinks he is. It seems like he's trying to impress Coogan all the time, he's obviously in complete awe of him -understandably, since Coogan is a genius. Brydon is not.
Get what? If this is indeed an "act" as I assume you're implying, it still does not detract from the fact that Brydon is nowhere near as good a comedian, writer or impressionist as Coogan. It is therefore not a very convincing "partnership".
When Brydon said that "I loved Steven's work long before I met him", Coogan responded, "I met Rob long before I loved his work". Therein lies the crux of the matter. Brydon is out of his depth with a man who he obviously idolises.
When Al even does this "What do you got" bit these guys keep going over and over in the show.
