I was reading translations of your technical discussion in Japanese. The Exhaust valve in the US production XB had no relation to sound level. I was for preservation of bottom-end tourqe and mid-range tourqe.The exhaust valve system was very good with the standard XB muffler and the EBR race Muffler and EBR race computer. With Jardine muffler, its best to eliminate the valve and use ecmspy. In truth, EBR race muffler and EBR ecm is the best system but very expensive.
@Gloomshadow1 EBR race muffler and EBR raceecm of the XB12R, Jardine great than. I have that experience. Jardine's muffler, raceecm settings do not fit the climate of Japan. Frequently the fire. The Japanese rider is required ECMSPY. Ignition map and fuel map based on the same settings raceecm, Is set to match my XB12R. Jardine is spinning around 3000rpm is not smooth. EBR race muffler and EBR ecm really wants. However, rare in Japan. And expensive.
@Shakur4649 it is not possible to get perfect sound from the XB motor, Harley Davidson DNA...even in the climate of the USA the XB makes "popping" sounds during decelleration sometimes...if you get "backfires" and loud "bang" it is because too much fuel in the fuel-air mixture.. ecmspy can help with this problem but never help 100%... Harley Sportster motor is crude and primitive. XB motor has Sportster DNA in it.
with my Rrace ECM installed, you cannot start the Buell and let it sit on the kickstand... the motorcycle engine works with so much power that the vibration causes the motorcycle to move backwards across the ground, it is amusing to see. Buy the EBR race ECM for Jardine, you will understand the difference. With the Race ECM, it is a totally different motorcycle..super powerful. Throttle response is almost instant!
@Shakur4649 yes, I have ecmspy also..both are very good. Ecmspy is good for the street because engine stays cool. The EBR race ecm gets hot in slow traffic. The main difference is that with the EBR unit it gives you better ignition timing, EBR has a great spark-curve. Each shift into a higher gear feels like a kick in your belly.

@Gloomshadow1
I rewrote it from the standard. With Ecmspy
It became very powerful.
And, it became a very good sound.
If you like ...
Please also see my website in Japanese.
In the future we will also write in English.
