@doktoren99 That is called a capo :) It's like a clamp (there are a few different kinds, but same idea) that you put at one of the frets so that you can play the same song higher than with an open guitar. Some people use it to change keys (for example: If a female is covering a male's song, she might want the music to be a little higher), and some people use it just for a different sound.

It's on their EP American Gothic, but Billy debuted it during the residencies (I can't remember if it was in Ashville or SF). His live version from the residencies is waaaay better than the recorded version/2009 tour version. That's just my opinion, though. It worked so well as a stripped-down acoustic song

That was awesome! I can never get the vocals down. This is one of my favorite songs. To be honest, I love the "video postcard" version more than the studio version. Billy needs to realize that sometimes just a guitar and his voice is all that's needed to make a great track for an album.
