  • Mine always does that ear thing ;D

  • hey world,, i got me a bent ear lol

  • My youngest also has the "flop" ear, despite being cropped. He was a year old when I adopted him, so who knows how it got that way...the one dog I did have cropped stayed "posted" for probably three weeks, and his stood tall until the day he passed.

Either way, I've found it becomes part of their character after a while. (not that dobies have problem developing a "character")

Good lookin' pups, you've got there.

  • my dobey has big floppy ears and a long waggy tail, the way nature intended...

  • @beniv8 ...the only issue with the tail, besides the fragile nature of them, is the ability to "neuter" the adult male humans in the house. (wink)

  • @Stifsim6 its funny coz when he lays next to my drum kit his tail wacks the bass drum :) boom boom boom

  • @beniv8 But does he keep time?!

  • Beautiful dogs...The floppy ear adds character.

  • my brother and me used to rescue dogs in north uk. we found some beautiful dogs and were fkn shocked at how badly ppl can treat such loyal and friendly animals. we had 2 doberman pups but left the tails and ears as is. i figured they had had a hard enough time as it was. i say 'rescue' but really we found them wandering the streets l8 at night and just took them in. half starved and often w nasty conditions [a pitbull-duchess-had boilin water thrown over her acc. to vet!] it's hard to ignore

  • The floppy ear is just a low budget crop job along with poor management by the dogs previous owners. This guy adopted the dogs so it's not his fault! Cropping was pointless to begin with... and now the dog looks weird. But he's still beautiful :)

  • ohhaa.. ich lieebee dobermänner ;D beste rasse die es gibt ;) ps. aber unkupiert sind sie schöner ;D

  • omg i loooove dobermans *.* <3 <3 <3 <3 is it exhausting with 2 of them ?? :)

  • Wile E. Coyote :) :) from the road runner show :)

  • I have 2 Dobies! One of them has problems with their ears standing up too :/

  • @StaciLeAnnMizell why you are make them standing up ears ?? and why so a small tail :( okeey its beautiful but not vgood for them :(( <3 <3 <3

  • @ChiefLilliCool It actually is good for them. The floppy ears can get caught in thorns and get bit if they are playing too rough with another dog. :) It hurts them when they get them cropped but afterwards its fine :D

  • @StaciLeAnnMizell I agree that there is a benefit to cropping, but my experience is that they are far less prone to ear (yeast) infections. Either way is fine, I have cropped and natural ear Dobes, and I love them no less either way.

I liken the procedure to circumscision...how many of you guys remember that one?

  • the floppy ear is awesome, it says hi to everyone! lol

  • AWE! OMG! LOVE THE FLOPPY EAR! LOVE IT!

  • hahahah his floppy ear is so funny. That looks like a really nice place for them to live. And Brownies is so good looking, my next dobie will be a red one...

  • beautiful dogs!

  • Hallo! Sehr schöne Dobermänner!

    LG Andy

  • Some dobes have one floppy some both it just depends on the cartilage in that specific dogs ear. Regardless anyone who doubts the floppy ear would still run like a bullet if it came at them so lol ! Cool looking Dobe!

  • HAHAHAH The floppy ear really takes away the "scaryness" of the dog xD hahahah so cute :P

  • I left the ear alone. I don't mind it. And they are inside dogs for the most part. Unless they get into something and I don't have time to wash them that day. They are pretty good about staying in the yard on their own.

  • Floppy ear aside; That is one BEAUTIFUL male. Both dogs are perfect with their Crop and Dock.

Q- Did you try to re-tape and post that ear?

  • OMG you cut the tail thats so inhumane of you, nah im just joking, it makes them look badass

  • please check out " please help leiberman". we need to raise money to have a baseball sized tumor removed from his paw. call 1-519-756-1770 and help this poor loving puppy

  • english dobs are natural these days no cropping or tail docking just as nature intended!

  • They are gorgieous!

  • He is so handsome

  • my brow has also floppy ear, we are now waiting till his sister gets new pups.... we have then another lovely dog!! :-D

  • @mrtrane18 the tail must be done no later than 10 days of birth give or take a few days, or it will cause pain to the Doberman and possibly devastate future behavior!

The ears range from $350-2800 depending on the procedure and is highly recommended to be done before 12 weeks of birth and there are 3 lengths the ears can be cut Doberman style if you don't ask the clinic about there procedures you will get there standard length and if they haven't done dobermans ears stay away or you will get a

  • How much it costs to cut ears ,and tail ?

  • does anyone know the situation with importing a doberman from USA to UK? ive looked online, from what i gather because USA is deemed a 'safe' origin there is no need for quarantine. is this correct? anybody shed some light please?

  • AHAHAHA THE FLOPPY EAR IS COOL

  • @bonzie88 Pimp ass ;D

  • I've had it happen twice now, the ear thing you guys are talking about, and as soon as they give a real alert, it goes up and parallel to the other.

Besides, it's a personality thing, and helps me tell mine apart at a distance.

  • Yes, i have the same Dob like that, one ear didnt set up. now he's 6 months old and weights 25 kilos, anyway it doesn't matter....

  • Yes, i have the same Dob like that, one ear didnt set up. now he's 6 months old and weights 25 kilos

  • loverly dogs xxx my dobies gonna be a daddy soon.

  • Your dobermins are lovely! Beautiful! i wish i could have one1 they are my favorite breed!

  • the one's ear didnt set up right. maybe didnt keep it bandaged long enough?

  • @ItchyWitchMakeupArt Could have been. However, I'm not sure. When I got him, it was already like that.

  • @EvolvedRS Still a beautiful dog! I'd take him!

  • @EvolvedRS do you leave your dogs outside during the day? cause im getting a dobey soon and i have heard they arent really outside dogs

  • @ItchyWitchMakeupArt w/e he's still cute :]

  • woNDERFUL!

  • how old? and y does his ear drop?

  • @hackkilla420 Could have been a bad crop job to begin with. Or it could have been poor care after the fact. I don't know which as I "rescued" the dog. It was like that when I got him.

  • check out my video about my dobie puppy!!!!!!!!!

  • is this a shorter legged type of doberman they look so i know it might be a dumb question i was jw lol

  • I've had a few and been around a few and they are both "normal" height for what I've seen. The black one was just under 100 lbs last vet visit and proportioned well.

  • may be camera angle...all very nice looking dogs tho x

  • Sue your vet.

  • @BorislavX Not sure why I'd sue my vet. I've taken all my dogs to him for many years.

  • I lol'd at the floppy ear popup! omg funny

  • i used to have one bt my mom sold it without my opinion

  • That's too bad. Get another one! :)

  • what a bad ear crop job

  • brownies looked like a red doberman i think it regular brown and black

  • @foxcloak865 brownies is rust colored

  • the red doberman looks exactly like my doberman

  • Comment removed

  • Wow my Doberman looks almost exactly like your black one

  • that's too bad about his ear but they're both soo beautiful none the less. (:

  • Aww there gorgeaus, I Have a Doberman Puppy

    His Name Is Apollo =]

His Ears arent Cropped (sorry if i mispelled)

  • My dobe has the same floppy ear promblem only it's his left ear. We taped for 8 months to no avail. It fits his personality though. Just wondering, my vet recommended an ear implant to make the ear stand. She doesn't do it, but is going to find someone who does. Have you heard of this? Any idea of cost?

  • I haven't heard of this but it probably isn't cheap. I didn't have the male(black) dobie when he was a puppy but for the money the original owner paid for him(he was shipped from Germany), I can't believe they picked the vet that did his ears. The female's ears are perfect. I'm not going to bother with him because like yours, it fits his personality. :D
