Nope, just download the game and install it, and you should be good to go! And yes a keyboard is great for this, you can customize the keys to however you like. I used my keyboard to run through this, and it's excellent! Have fun.

You do know that just like any other Mario game there is a dash button, that when held down you not only run faster, but jump further? That's all you need.
