I would just say: Koj zoo nkauj. Not sure about Lao. I think it's: Jao ngam lai (correct me if I'm wrong vaolao).

tounoue - thx for the comment. You are correct if the person was to ask a question. However, this lesson was intended to just make the statement "I love you", and not asking a question. I will cover how to ask a question in later lessons.

khoy = I or me

jao = you

these 2 are not gender specific, and both boys and girls can use them.
