La musica di Massenet è così leggiadra quasi cristallina da penetrarti e possederti. La versificazione in lingua francese esalta vieppiù l'estasi idillica. Le voci di Anna e Roberto evolvono in fine tessitura "arazzistica" che tende al recitativo sublimato !
