Its a good read but not that amazing! I mean Daniel cant beat anything wiht 99 on this board.unless the "nit" on his left makes a play with air. And he knows he doesnt have JJ, QQ, KK or AA..he would have raised that preflop so there is only 44 and 66 or 1010 left or a flopped straight. 57 also got there on turn. The only cards he can beat was 77 i think, but would he have called a raise and reraise with 77? dont think so...
@SneakingEye that's so much easier to say, while you're sitting back watching both their hands, and watching it as many times as you want. i'm telling you, if you were in daniels situation, at the WSOP, you would not think as clearly as you claim to have here
@oiyoustfuplz it was pretty obvious the guy had 4's or 6's, sneaking is right on all accounts, plus if he re-raises @ the flop he's chasing his action away, the smooth call was a dead give away, and even moreso when he confidently says make it 15K, still it is a good read by Negreanu
lets see, when i play live poker i just give points to lean to i lose or i win, in the long run im always up. Preflop raise, called with low pocket pair or low cards, gives me 1 for winning because it ussually doesnt happen. Raise and just a call on the flop tells me they have a straight or trips, since normal players either would aggressively protect their top pair on the flop or foldnothing else,if he reraised significantly daniel would think he was protecting top pair and gone broke.
i love the donkeys who say this was an obvious read and obvious fold! lol the check on the turn was actually very sneaky, i bet most players call the 15K there with 9's for sure! especially all the donks saying easy fold!
@rico305305 Huh? You say the ones who claim was an obvious fold are donkeys. Yet the ones you think that would call the bet on the river are donkeys? Which one is it?I do, however, think it was an easy fold. Im pretty sure when the guy looks at Daniel after the flop, Daniel knew what he had. Why else would he be in the hand? I do believe the look he made after the flop cost him. I honestly think that it would have fared him well if he was on the other side of Daniel. What do you think?
i thought i made myself quite clear buddie. Everyone likes to say its an easy fold watching it on utube but all i was saying is that i bet the majority of donkeys saying that would actually call the 15K on the river with 9's, after the sneaky T check. Easy to say its an easy fold when you can see all the cards, lil different when you are in the situation. Is that clear enough for you?
Daniel must think this guy's a TAG player so he wouldn't bet like that with 1-split suited connectors. Therefore, a straight is unlikely. It's obvious he either has two-pair or a set. I think Daniel reads the kid's obvious excitement (which he's trying too hard to mask) and puts him on the better hand. That's why he states the read so aggressively: to see more of a reaction in order to validate.
Not that I really want to get involved in a discussion, but it is fairly obvious the guy flopped a set. Just look at the action and it is fairly obvious. What else could he possibly have with the action? Could have trip twos also imo.
Pretty easy to deduce a set for the preflop just call the big raise, and then on the flop there's a bet and a raise and he flat calls, so the set it's obvius, but if the guy moves in on the flop, Negreanu would folded, if the guy min raises, Negreanu would folded, if the guy bet the turn Negreanu would folded, etc, the guy just can't get paid once that bet and that raise on the flop happened.
Yeah, its sooooo obvious the guy has a set......!!! If you could make them plays, go play with the pros.....negraunu is a special talent, the only reason its obvious to you is cos you are seeing his fucking hand!
@vidurk True. It's also harder for pros to read amateurs. Why?, cause someone like Joens can call the blind and a raise with 72 and even bet the flop with 3 players behind him. Negreanu probably had a good read of Antill by the many hands played before than that. He analizes pretty well bets patterns and body lenguage. I've played 6 live tournaments in my life, and dude... it's not that easy to fold 99 with that board and those shitty players.

Antill checks the turn bcs he knows Negreanu is capable of playing any two cards no matter the position. he is probably afraid of the str8 and when the river fills his hand hes hoping to get paid if Daniel made the str8 and slow played it. thanks for posting this hand.
He checked the turn because he knew he had by far the best hand and tried to induce a bet from negreanu on the river. When he didn't he knew he had to bet...
I disagree, He probably suspects that Daniel will fire again on the river, checking so that when that happens he can get paid with a reraise instead of just forcing Daniel to fold on the turn with a bet.
whats he supposed to be a magaician a clarvoyant... or any other fake?
guessing isnt that hard, half the time your right half the time you wnrong... 20% chance that you will guess rigt right right right, then when the camera is off you are wrong wrong wrong wrong.
well either he has a set or a premium pair but as daniel noted only a set would check the turn with those community cards in mind. actually a lot of online poker players with their tons of experience would also make the laydown but daniel would be the only one who makes the guy in front sweat while having the best hand:)
awesome read he didnt just know he was beat he alsoknew th other guys hand amazing, daniel is one of the best maybe even the best poker player on the planet, not just because of this video, but because I've seen him make reads like this a bazillion times before

actually, no, he knew he was beat after he raised on the flop and someone who acted behind him called. After someone calls a bet and a raise behind them, it's pretty obvious 99 is beat. Therefore, any decent poker player will put no more money in the pot. Negreanu's plays aren't always that spectacular, he makes 'em look good though.
I wouldn't say I'm exceptional, but try and take the situation into consideration if you were Daniel. Someone calls a bet and a raise off the flop. That right there isn't a huge tipoff that 99 is beat? He's either got a big hand (set, TT+, or 35) or is planning to make a huge play with nothing. Seeing as he's an amateur in an early round, and he's probably shown no indication of such sophisticated play previously, the latter seems very unlikely. Elementary fold for someone like Daniel.
why is K-10 showing 0%, it would be like < 1%, I can understand that, but not 0, because 2 10s or 2 kings could show up, unless from before (which we have not been shown), players held those cards and folded so we know for fact they can not show up
the only way he would of had a chance if it pair the board on the flop but it didnt so its a 0 percent ...np just gotta find all the options thats it lol
'n sorry because there was already responded on that one, didn't noticed. It was a dumb comment though, if you find yourself at the poker table or online you can't make mistakes like that.
0:48 you can tell by the way Antill looks at the flop that he likes it ... 1:15 he exchanges looks with Negreanu when calling the flop raise -- big mistake, now Negreanu pretty much knows Antill flopped a monster.

Two tens or two kings would give Antill 4's full and would leave Stucke with just trips. He's drawing dead, trust me.

because if 2 kings showed or 2 10s antill or whatever would have a full house (4's over 10's or k's). so he was at 0 on the flop.
