I really agree, they both great singers but the original by RUNNER is far better than this. If you like the song and you're not only in Sammy / Steve you should listen to the RUNNER CD. Nearly every song on this LP is a jewel ! The only song that's not so good is Sooner or later, but this is everyones own taste! You may find a link on my Channel / LOST BANDS.

Uhh..Neal Schon is in Journey (Perry's former band), not Boston.

Sammy recorded Danger Zone after touring as a supporiting act for Boston. Tom Scholz from Boston did some pre production work and some engineering. Steve Perry and Neil Schon from Journey both perform on this song. Sammy produced Danger Zone himself.

For those struggling to hear Steve Perry, he can be mainly heard doing the high vocal in the break down bit from about 3:27 to 3:50 - nice part of the song as well.

yea perry's voice is very distinct at that 3:27-3:50 section. other than that i only recognize it when they sing the word "girl"

This song actually was written by a Group called Runner featuring the "Arrows" Frontmen Alan Merrill & Steve Gould. the Arrows also had a hit & wrote Joan Jetts "I love Rocky Road." Sammy must've known and seen how good the band "Runner" was. I wish Merrill & Gould would reunite Runner was a cool band with an awesome sound.

I can't hear Perry at all in this version. It is Sammy singing here. If there is a version with Perry I want to hear it. I agree that this would have been an awesome collaboration.

I just listened to Perry with a band called America and he just sang back up and chorus.I'm going to keep looking.

I had NO idea Perry sang on this song! This album has been out of print for SOOOO long! I had it years ago & an ex-boyfriend stole it when we broke up. Luckily I found another copy at a flea market. Now, listening to it I can hear Perry doing background vocals. Huh, who knew!
