Yes you can do what she is saying provided you own this cable m-audioDOTcom/products/en_us/Uno.html A USB uno MIDI interface cable which is a cable that goes from the MIDI in and MIDI out on your MPC 500 to the USB on your computer. FAIL on the part of the producer of this video for not showing that in the video !
Hey this is great info however you don't mention the fact that the default mode of reason5 In Bus A B C etc has no USB Uno Interface selection. So telling us this little how to and leaving out the key info on how to get that USB Uno Interface option to show up makes this tutorial absolutely useless you might as well title the video How to sync Reason and the MPC 500 to PaPa Smurf and my father using Gary Coleman's grandfather's Lynn drum
Can you send midi straight from the mpc500s usb port staight to the pcs usb port without using the midi out socket on the mpc500???
If you can do this then holla at me kuz i've herd contrasting versions as to wheather thats possible or not and i just asumed it was not and that direct usb sync was only for transfering samples and so on and that the midi out was the only way to transmit midi but the 500 is full of suprises so if im wrong PLEASE HOLLA AT ME! As direct usb midi would be so dope.

hey i just purchased my mpc 500 and reason wont read the mpc i plugged directly to the lap via the usb cable. Do i need to install something else?
