Although there are some great singers and soloists, the performance of this music is TOO FAST!! The words get lost in the speed of the piece and the diction loses its flavour. Slow down....but a good performance otherwise. WRD from Australia
Well, I know there can be some mistakes in pronounciation. A lot of people confused that two words. No wonder - they were studying English in that time, a lot of them couldn´t speak English at all. :-)
@BA002 They did a magnificent job! Wonderful! And I love that it was performed in the Czech Republic where the Good King's statue is located by Wenceslas square. :)
SarahAlexandra, here you are: 1) Good King Wenceslas looked out on the feast of Stephen. When the snow lay roundabout deep and crisp and even. Brightly shone the moon that night though the frost was cruel. When a poor man came in sight gathering winter fuel. 2) Hither page and stay by me if thou knowst it telling, yonder peasant who is he, where and what is dwelling? Sir, he lives a good league hence underneath the mountain, right against the forest fence, by st. Agnes fountain.
3)Bring me flesh and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither. Thou and I will see him dine when we bear them thither. Page and monarch forth they went, forth they went together, through cold wind´s wild lament and the bitter weather. 4) Sire, the night is darker now and the wind blows stronger. Fails my heart, I know not how, I can go no longer. Mark my footsteps, good my page, tread thou in them boldly. Thou shalt find the winter´s rage, freeze they blood less coldly.
5) In his master´s steps he trod, where the snow lay dinted. Heat was in the very sod, which the Saint had printed. Therefore, Christian man, be sure, wealth or rank possessing. Ye who know will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.
Wenceslas was my uncle, i.e. his brother was my forebear.

The sprightly tempo is most refreshing. The choristers sang in good tune. Thank you for sharing!

This is lovely. I love the way they pronounce "thou" as "though." ;-)

@kwerna In Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire "Thou" is pronounced "Thoo", so no need to admonish pronunciation!

I... just wouldn't mind subtitles even in this case, it sounds great, but I couldn't make out what they are singing. Never mind, good job!
