  • Could u put a paintball instead of a steel ball

  • If you don't sell can you please make how to videos because i really want to make one of these

  • i bought a large magnet with 2 wheels on it, one on each side, and a broom stick in the middle so it is shaper just like the letter "T", the magent is VERY powerful, i simply push it around my yard like a lawnmower and it picks up all of the balls.

  • Wouldn't arrows actually be cheaper? Easier to find and can be reused.. While steel balls gotta get pretty expensive when always buying new ones ^^

I need to go scavenging around your place xD

  • @xESOTERlC actually, arrows are very spendy. carbon arrows can be 12 bucks a pop. and traditional wood arrows can be even more. aluminum arrows are pretty cheap, but they bend very easily...

  • @bowhunter42995 Used to do a lot of bow hunting, etc, so I'm familiar.. N yeah for actual hunting steel balls may be cheaper but I'm thinking in regards to practice shooting.. I'm still of a mind that arrows would be cheaper. Numerous reuses whereas the steel balls would be pretty much single use

  • very nice

  • 1:25 'it shoots fine...... let me show you...(smile)' - hilarious :)

  • gracias señor usted me acaba de aportar una idea para fabricar algo parecido con el fin de ahuyentar alimañas sin producir ruido

  • Hi,

May I build a slingshot crossbow like this one, of course with full credit to you?

    Thanks :)

  • wow...... great work... i like

  • how to. how to. how to. how to. how to. how to... please

  • Do u sell any crossbow slash slingshots

  • @monkeytits0 No.

  • awesome

  • Thats a cool one :-)

  • thats a lovely bit of engineering mate,,great work!

    atb,,wayne.

  • What do you work as?

  • Joerg, that is about the best one I have seen yet. I also like the deceptively simple loading and release method. The medieval bullet crossbows used a much more involved string and release mechanism. Very good work. Jimb

  • @ JoergSprave you said that it's a pain to retrieve arrows but isn't it also a pain to find lost balls, make new ones, or buy more?

  • @IpodFailx700 99,99% of my BBs will "land" in my catchbox, retrieving is easy. An arrow that hits my archery target needs considerable force to be pulled out again (70 lbs bows). BBs are very inexpensive, I can get hundreds of BBs for the price of a single arrow. And the lead balls do not deform in the catchbox, as it is stuffed with old TShirts.

  • @JoergSprave oh right, I forgot about the catchbox.

  • @JoergSprave i have to say, you sounded creepy at 1:26.

  • i want one !!!!!

  • Nice Audi A8

  • @itsmemaario Sorry, it's just an A6. Company issue.

  • @JoergSprave what steel balls do you use??

  • what kind of camera do you use for slow motion?

  • how's the triger mechanism ?

  • How about designing a slingshot that shoot BB through the barrel

  • A work of art, that punches holes on wood!

  • классное видео. cool.

  • pure awesomeness! it looks so......GOOD! i love the fire mechanism!

  • I love how polite he is, that's rare on the internet :>

  • would it be better to use thicker wood?

  • @JoergSprave I'd really like to see a pistol slingshot crossbow, but that's just me.

  • @IpodFailx700 Check out "Ruber MK2" and "Jack Sparrow's slingshot pistol".

  • I haven't even made one slingshot yet, but I like your videos a lot

  • Where can we buy one of these? :D

  • imo best looking slingshot you have ever made, be nice to see you imitating a more modern crossbow design.

  • @tedmaulz Lead does not happen to be magnetic, you know.

  • @JoergSprave so are you saying that if you built a modern looking crossbow it could only fire steel balls? im sure a man with your talents could find an easy solution.

  • @tedmaulz No, I have all kinds of rubber operated crossbows. Ball shooters for both lead and steel. Arrow shooters. Stake shooters. Even a plunger shooter! But this model, I wanna use lead mostly because of the medieval approach.

  • @tedmaulz Check out "Sling-X-Bow with scope vs. ballistic gelatin".

  • @JoergSprave the sling-XBow is great but i much prefer the look and simplicity of this.

  • @tedmaulz Yes I agree, this has something special. A traditional look and aesthetic beauty that appeals to me. Would look nice if stained, polished and hung on a wall too.

I think I will have a go at making one of these.

  • Make a crossbow that shoots crossbows, so we can crossbow while we crossbow

  • @cuteboymimmi Ha! One of the best troll pieces so far. Seriously, I enjoyed it. Good one.

  • magnetize the steel so the ammo wont fall down when u load it

  • OUCH MYFUCKING EYE!

  • You gotta have balls to use that thing. :)

  • seriously what are u going to design next, dont get me wrong your slingshots are amazing, keep up your amazing work :)

  • @DemonicaaD14 I am working on a slingshot crossbow that shoots iphones as ammo.

  • @JoergSprave im suprised you have not made a ballista slingshot :) but that would require huge amounts of rubber, metal, wood and a larger range to test it

  • @JoergSprave i cant wait, honestly it sounds amazing,

  • you see you put the ball in the nut and tickle it,.. lol man

  • work really good i like it

  • Question: Don't crossbows usually come with a crank for quick reloading?

  • @ariuszarim No, the crank makes loading much slower. It is needed for prods that are too strong for handloading. But rubber is a lot more efficient than a steel spring, so no crank is needed. The draw is just 22 kg, a teenage boy can do that without a crank.

  • @JoergSprave I forgot to mention, you are awesome. I really liked the machete launcher. Keep makin' cool slingshots.

  • @ariuszarim is the ballista which is much bigger and stronger than one JoergSprave has made and it fires 2.5 - 3m bolts (a type of arrow)

  • Amazing as usual GREAT JOB!!

  • Wow, your cock and lead balls shoot with quite a load ; )

  • hmm cool... looks pretty effective

  • once again a great creation, I use to have doubts as to hunting with slingshots until I saw the ones you create. they are freaking amazing

  • I skipped your explanation of what everything is till the part where you actually shoot stuff. :)

  • sweet!

  • Were led balls a common form of ammunition for crossbows throughout history?

  • @Kooletz71 Yes, lead or stone shooting crossbows were known in medieval times.

  • I find the trigger mechanism the most difficult part to design and assemble. It needs to be robust and capable to hold and release extremely high draw loads without compromising accuracy. Also the 'draw' should be cranked to maximise power.

Your crossbows design revolves around its ammunition and seems to do so very effectively.

Your approach is very elegant and appears well crafted. Also, I FUCKING LOVE THIS CHANNEL.

  • Like today which is illegal to use guns, in the medievil ages, using a crossbow is crossing the line.

  • one person got hit by that thing

  • The Germans make the best of everything

  • Slingshots sound like fun! Oh wait, I live in Australia. Everything is illegal, except working 45 hours a week then spending that earned money on the two corporations that own us. Hooray for life!

  • @roflkthxlol I have good news for you, AFAIK only "Y" shaped slingshots are illegal in Australia. That means stickshots, gloveshots and "W" designs are legal.

  • @roflkthxlol try to be a starving child in malaria and aids infested horribly hot africa with no parents and only a dirt pile to sleep on.

  • That would be sweet if u could make like mini glove style sling shots...where the user puts on gloves with attached sling shots on top of the glove and squeezes his hand to fire it....

  • that was awesome! you mention harpoon rubber at the end of the video, I scuba dive and spearfish regularly, and the rubber that is used on spearguns is extremely powerful and cheap. But I'm sure you already knew that =)

  • @BeanDip0913 Yes, I ordered some in 16mm, 18mm and 20mm strength...

  • @BeanDip0913 Oh, BTW, I am a PADI certified diver as well. But I only hunt with the camera...

  • Good Job!

  • "Wow.." Love that bit. You could design something like this for a dogball launcher for the dog to fetch and chase?

  • @Roulden Man, with this kind of power, you would need a dog with great eyesight and endurance, plus a huge parking lot...

  • That is pretty cool, Macguyver would be proud!

  • Your accent is great. I don't know how you do it but even your comments have an accent.

  • he looks like a genius nice guy but when he says 'let me show you.' at 1:27

    i shat myself

  • Dude you gotta give a tutorial on making this, please.

  • i love your ideas =P

  • I always enjoy your videos. This is a very nice design.

  • Combine this guy with FPSRussia and you can defeat Chuck Norris

  • Could you design a mini (portable) version of this crossbow?

  • Pure Awsumness

  • @61diemai Ja, die Alten konnten schon was.

  • @JoergSprave

  • I sure hope there is a plethora of rubber bands in the zombie apocalypse. Love this guy!

  • how to

  • A German with a German car.. true to his roots.

  • @jayfulf Well, I also have a Toyota pickup, and a Yamaha enduro bike. And I would love to own a Hummer 1.

  • Joerge, you should think about expanding your creations not just to slingshotsand rubberbands, but to a variety of things.

  • @frogger832 But I don't love other things as much as my slingshots!

  • @JoergSprave even your wife and cat :(

  • @JoergSprave What about your family!!!!!

  • @TheCredability No kids, just a wife and my niece who lives with us. She is 18 and spends most of her time with the boys... and my wife is in medical school. I do have my weekends for myself pretty much.

  • @JoergSprave Oh, i guess you have a decent amount of time for slingshots then :L, good job!

  • You sir are awesome

  • is that theraband green?

  • @asger9 No... Silver. You know, the type that is too strong for a normal slingshot.

  • What did I learn from watching this video?

Dont fuck with this guy, or his property.

  • what did you use for the metal at the front ?

  • @theBZentertainment Four mm flat iron, bent to shape. Can be done cold in the vise.

  • Would it go through medieval armor, just like a corssbow does? I mean, would it be better than a homemade crossbow?^^

  • COOL!

  • how much do you bench?

  • @abitesizedcow More than most. Less than some. :) Seriously, my record is 175 kg, but right now I can probably do 160 (been lazy lately).

  • Not only do you make extremely efficient weapons they are lovingly created with a beautiful design. Hope you keep making videos for years to come.

  • Man that looks "I punch bears to the balls for breakfast" with crazy slingshot designs in his head.

I don't know whether your joyful smile makes these videos less or even more terrifying to watch.

  • I think this is your best slingshot crossbow yet =)

  • @aDAMPis1913 I think so too. Shot it all afternoon today, fun, fun, fun.

  • Awesome!

  • Du bist auf gizmodo zusehen. Coole videos.

  • Love your videos please keep making them. Your creativity is great :D!

  • I want to buy that , will you sale it?

  • dude every time you make one of your slingshots I'm blown away, you rock

  • ehm, genius, but what is the ball turns around (happens sometimes with slingshots)?

  • @N02505 You mean with badly designed slingshots? Mine are not falling in that category.

  • @JoergSprave Just saying XD, but Id still wear one of those ballistic face masks.

But the things you build are amazing.

  • Jorg... you are awesome!!!

  • good god that's amazing !! and nobody thought of that until the year 2011..this is more effective than the arrow I think.. wonder if it can pierce through ancient armor.

please do a test on the effectiveness of this weapon JoergSprave !!

  • You, mate, are a champion. Very innovative!

  • Awesome as always!

  • Another great shooter.

  • I WANT A THE SLO MO GUYS COLLAB

  • @Sebol811 It's an A6, actually, with the 2 liter turbo diesel engine. I love it, but it is owned by my employer (company car). I don't have a bird house, but live next to the woods and have a sizeable garden.

  • @JoergSprave O You're On-line.You could make a catapult to the R / C Planes? For example, the glider?

  • @Sebol811 I can shoot anything.

  • @JoergSprave I would like to see the video in slow motion. How this--->,,WTC No Plane Truth (Part 15)" But instead of the plane, flying Bullet and This your special Ammunition B...

  • Comment removed

  • you're the man!

  • Perhaps you should try making a Stonebow I think it's called.

That would surely suit your purposes.

  • Off topic: Is it crazy down there in Germany? Cause Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs just won the NBA title!

  • @TheFinalAdvent yeah right Ask Joerg to make a Handheld Trebuchet that shoots a Basketball far from the ring.

  • @TheFinalAdvent Basketball isn't very popular here, but Novitzki is in all the headlines. Germans love soccer, this is what really brings out the crowds. I personally don't like watching ball games. I prefer boxing (as a spectator, not as a fighter).

  • @JoergSprave Oh dang, I was thinking of requesting a slingshot that shoot basketballs. For non-destructive purposes, such as scoring a half-court shot with one of those crazy slingshots.

  • You are an amazing man to be able to make these things. Well done, Jeorg!

  • Nice. I've been in slingshot forum the guy shawn5 makes an idea of a rubber setting looks more cool its like your Handheld Slingshot Ballista invention. Isn't that more powerful than a regular crossbow style you just made?

  • @MrChaosHeadz Yes, that contraption would increase the power. But then again the "charme" is that it is medieval style. And I can always increase the draw weight.

  • Now that's the Real Slingshot Crossbow. Can you make a tutorial on the Trigger mechanism?(If you are planning on making another one with the same trigger). I don't understand the diagram or pics in the Slingshot forum. I think its the best trigger mechanism I have seen so far unlike the Pirate pistol in which the ammo have to push up to fire it. Thumbs up!

  • @Punishering2U The trigger is really simple. A round rod is pushed up into a notch of the rotating nut and locks it in place. When you pull the trigger, the rod is lowered and the nut rolls forwards.

  • what's been the worst accident you've had doing this?

  • @MrTroll652 Almost got blinded in the right eye from a snapping band (it was a store bought slingshot), Took weeks to heal halfways, but I now need reading glasses on that eye. Hence the safety glasses I am now always wearing.

  • Aint you ever afraid of the ball doing some wierd stuff when beeing shot and shoot the other way instead and hit you. That often happened to me with my old slingshot :/

  • @ConstanceCornelia One time the ball bounced off the target and broke a window. Maybe that's why he changed locations :P

  • @krap101 Not really. But it's a good thing that there are no windows around my new shooting range...

  • Comment removed

  • @ConstanceCornelia Must have been a lousy slingshot. Mine shoot straight.

  • Just so you know, I only subscribed because I like listening to your accent

  • I wish everyone took as much pride in their work, was you do in your hobby. It's really quite a treat to see such excitement and craftsmanship at the same time. :)

  • Good job on the "weapon", Joerg. Catch +1 ;)

  • what would you say the maximum range of your crossbow would be? Since you only shoot most of your weapons in close range.

Also, it'd be neat to see you try this out at a range or something and see the accuracy.

  • @yangmeister666 Slingshots aren't long range weapons. They are OK for shots up to 25 meters. Let us not forget that there is no spinning and no fletching, it basically is a throw. I shoot from 15 meters mostly. For the video, I have to get closer to the target as my camcorder does not have a wide angle lense.

  • do you keep all your creations?

  • @t0k1d0k1eighty8 I do.

  • HAHAHAHAHA

"The whole weapon is of course home made, from scratch, TOOK A WHOLE SUNDAY."

  • @dflymolo But it's true!
