normally track by track. all together is called two track (not trying to make you sound dumb, but just sharing info) and SOME two tracks sound GREAT!, but to get that pro sound track in everything track by track so you can individually mix the sounds. good choice. just be wary of the drums. the best producers do NOT use drms from a keyboard, they are often sampled drums. the only reason I use the roland drums was for demonstration. and while I DID sell the track, it wasn't the optimal performance. the hip hop formula still applies: beats and rhymes, the key word being BEAT. it has to BEAT. but as far as all the other peripherals, the motif is a good, if not a great, start.
