Amazing sound for just 4 guys on their instruments! No AUTOTUNE crap, no lip-synching, just incredible talent. Listen @ 2:48, you look for the rest of the 10-piece band, but it's just Deaky, Roger, Brian & Fred. (This was before Spike Edny worked the keyboard with them sometimes.)

its so fucked up and comical seeing Brain May play piano cant help smiling, so used to seeing him on guitar, but he is freaken great on piano i can tell you that!!! you could say hes their original pianist listen to doin alright their first album he plays piano, wasnt long after that freddie learnt and played on the song fairy king. from then on brian gave that duty to freddie and the rest is history

@fras888 you do realise that freddie played piano back in primary school in india? he didnt just learn one day while recording as you seem to be implying....he played since he was young and the aunt he lived with in India really pushed him to learn music (namely piano). Brian was the pianist from Smile (Queen before Freddie and John) and when Freddie wrote Fairy King, Brian handed over the reins to Freddie.

I thought it was zanzibar that he learnt, but what i was getting at, was telling people that brian was more than capable of piano and was their original pianist before freddie or should i say Farukh Balsara wrote my fairy king on piano and frm that day on brian was very impressed by his skills and and gave him the duty of piano.

@mlnj66 Not quite. Smile had a keyboardist (whose name I forgot and who was sacked before one of their pivotal concerts). Brian was Smile's guitarist (the unofficial 'Step On Me' credit is incorrect BTW). Queen had no pianist per se, until Fred began writing piano ballads. There was no 'handing over the reins' between them.

@fras888 Not quite: Smile had no pianist (they did have a keyboardist who quit at some point). Brian wrote DAR on guitar and Queen had no pianist until '73, and of course the pianist was always Freddie. Brian was always the guitarist. Queen started off as a power trio: NO pianist. Smile had no pianist. Ergo, Brian was never the pianist for neither Queen nor Smile. BTW the piano on Step On Me is not played by Brian.

I´ve never seen Queen play live. But this song makes me cry and gives me goose bumps although I am not in a relationship. It is naive, maybe not true, but we all dream of whatever he is talking about there.

Vocally speaking, Freddie *wow* *wower* *the wowest*. I will destroy my radio playing the news and Lady G.g. tomorrow and rely on my CDs and DVDs. Forever.

The first time I saw queen was in Dublin back in 81 then at Live Aid in 85 at Live Aid I was about twenty feet from him when he was on stage during their 20 mins on stage. Then I saw them in 86 at slane. [in Ireland] being at a queen gig is something that will stay with me forever. Now Im 44 and I remember them all like they were yesterday.

I saw Queen live and everytime I saw them Freddie always made the whole audience feel there special. There was just a very intimate feel about the place. When he left the stage you would feel so exausted and alone.

I use to love that too. I saw queen live three times. 81..85..86 and I use to love watching when this guy came out and gave Freddie mics and guitars and drinks the rodeo just always seem to know what Freddie needed. I suppose thats why he was with Freddie for years.
