  • The guitar is great but I REALLY love the case you keep them in. I'm guessing their climate controlled. I keep mine in my case but dang, those cases are nice. Where did you get them...if I may ask?

  • Oh...I really want one...and a Super 400...and a Les Paul Custom...and the ability of Joe Pass...So if I win the Lotto...Where do I go to buy Joe Pass Chops ???

  • It's not the man playing it or the guitar sounding bad, it's just a bad camera microphone.

  • Wow..I considered buying one of these $5000+ works of art until I saw this (and others) video. I have a $1400 Yamaha LL16 that I got on sale for $800 that makes this OVERPRICED guitar sound like shit..

  • ...what's up with the sound ??? this comes 4000.- €, 'sounds like 120.- € ! LES

  • Looks good bt sounds suck..

  • 2:05 fucked it all up for sure!

  • That's an awesome Byrdland in the back

  • i put in the mute

  • it would have sounded better if he had just dropped it

  • crap recording. why bother??

  • after hearing him play i cried for that gibson at least play an open E blues progression

  • your not PHIL X!!

  • What song is he playing?

  • Yummy guitar!.... I like the late townes van zandt's J-200...Blaze foley owned it before townes. Still loned out by JD to some big players! And the sky is the limit price wise.

  • I hate comments sometimes.

  • sounds too jungly and i can't hear much lows and mids...

i guess it's the recording quality...

  • 2:06 yeah, that smile is just priceless

  • @MrXAVIERDB haha typical 13 year old trying to act like a man... give it up.. you lost.. you dont own anything... game over.

  • @MrXAVIERDB yes but it wont be as beautiful as that guitar... in 20 years my gibson will still be rocking, while your guitar will be broken. Dont hate because you cant afford the good stuff...

Gibson guitars sound better as they get older.

  • would make a good melee weapon no?? :P

    Awesome awesome guitar.

  • hey you loock like homer simpson playing it

  • whats wrong with this dude?? when he started playing he destroyed all the quitar,he doesnt play the strings he hit them!

  • fucking guitar for $ 4500 and it sounds like shit on the plate

  • this dealer strums better than beatle JOHN

  • Dude, sweet guitar no doubt about it. But what you're playin' ain't gonna sell it.

  • dealer or player, that´s the question?

  • i wish i had this guitar

  • IN THE MY OPINION, THE BEST ACOUSTIC GUITAR OF ALL TIMES! IT'S AMAZING SOUND AND WONDERFULL GUITAR!!!

  • It's amazing how anyone could make my favorite guitar a guitar that has such a rich warm tone sound so tinny and flat.I don't know if it is my computer speakers what this was recorded on or the guy playing it but that sounded like shit.

  • it was a beautiful guitar until that dude played it

  • what is the song Play by The Man ?

  • george lucas plays guitar?

  • @Zenophage lololol and i was like .. hm.. this guy remembers me of someone

  • 4 pieces of pearl is tooo much, I think. 2 is more than enough.

Some of the very early SJ200s had 2 pieces too, and a different floral design on the scratchplate / pickguard. Some were designated "J200".

The VERY first models (1937-43 I think!) were not maple / rosewood, but rosewood / ebony.

Gibson have changed many specs over the years, but I love my 1996 one.

The 60s J200s, though collectable, are not good instruments - I mean, adjustable bridges?! What were Gibson thinking of?

  • @TerrySleeper God i think 2 is too little my true vintage has 4 and i love it that way !.

i guess it depends on ones own perception of beauty

  • i want that gibson les paul custom at the back. NOW!!! lol just joking. very nice guitar! as always...gibson makes the best acoustic guitars...pieces of art, not just pieces of wood if you know what i mean. also you should sell all those gibson guitars to someone who can play cause you can't play and your strumming sucks. no offense, just saying the truth.

  • @RobotFollower ...settle down Man...you are being a bit Harsh..!!

  • Curly maple neck

  • i dont know how he just made that guitar sound so bad..

  • why does he look so confused when he's playing?

probably wondering why he's making it sounds like crap...

  • Thanks old man, for making that guitar sound like SHIT. You really didn't deserve to hold it in the first place, and then not only do you play HORRIBLE, but also you strum it like it's a fucking 90 dollar Epiphone. Treat it with some respect, it's a work of art, not a toy.

  • @TannerCBrooks a 90 dollar Epiphone would be wasted on this guy lol

  • do all sj 200s sound like this unplugged? or just the vintage?

  • sounds absolutely shit in this vid

  • @grantburgh1 sorry, but the sound of this guitar unplugged is exactly this. you can find plugged videos where the sound is better.

  • Well it certainly didn't sound anything special on this video!

  • @bunklefee Don't worry - I played one at a music store a few days ago knowing almost nothing about Gibson acoustic guitars and how they sound compared to, for example, Martin guitars. I tried this and it blew me away. I need one now...

  • I am saving for this beauty

  • A dream guitar for quite a few of us I'm sure. beautiful.

  • @juancarlosvejar, well that's good enough for me then, cant judge a guitar by one video.

  • could be the video, could be what is being played, but I gotta tell ya, to me the greatest attribute of this guitar would be its bass sound, and this video is not doing it justice, but thats only my humble opinion.

  • @SuperOlds88 i bought a left handed Sj200 true vintage in sunburst from fuller's vintage guitar in texas and i have to tell you i am happy with that axe , i'm in love !

  • love the 200 but yes that does sound bad for that guitar %100 should never sound like that

  • around 1000-2000 bucks

  • anyone know how much i could get one of these second hand?

  • @stevesteve55 actually im in the process of buying one second hand myself and they go for no loss then 2200 dollars from the lower end up to 25000

  • oh also,, you have a beautiful store!

  • well it certainly looks purdy.

  • the mark of a truly amazing guitar isn't by the wood it's made of.. where it's made.. how it's made.. or any factors like that.. and it most certainly isn't always based on the name on the headstock (although Gibson does make amazing guitars). The true mark of an amazing guitar can be seen at 2:06. look at his face

  • that sounded bad to me :S !

  • My favorite acoustic

  • play it!
